2020 Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest

Page 1

Welcome Welcome Exhibitors to the first Double Buckeye Show!! What a year this has been! From a total shut down to a sold-out double show!! The Alpaca Industry is so resilient. We have so much passion for our animals and our fellow breeders! As much as we all would like it to be, this pandemic is not over, and it is imperative that we take precautions and responsibility for our own safety and the safety of our fellow exhibitors. The wearing of masks or shields, social distancing, and frequent hand washing are essential. Hand sanitizer stations have been placed around the building to assist you.

Masks or shields must be worn when showing and moving throughout the building. They may be removed when eating or drinking, but always remember to social distance! Thank you, Tito’s Vodka, Thirsty Dog Brewery and Buck Brook Margaritas! Above all, remember to social distance at all times!! While at the show, should you feel ill, please immediately leave the building, and advise me of your situation (216-387-3509). We will assist with the showing of your alpacas. Due to on-going travel restrictions, our Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest judge, Jill Marcellus from Canada, was replaced by Laurel Shouvlin. Please join me in welcoming Laurel back to the halter show ring after her many years serving on the boards of ARI and AOA! There are three changes to this year’s show – the addition of a Fun Class on Saturday – BEST HEAD! Be sure to have some $10 bills on hand. This will be an elimination class, with a $10 entry fee per contestant for each round. All 3 judges will decide the winner! The winner will win the entire purse, with the agreement to donate ½ back to the Buckeye OSU Large Animal Veterinary Scholarship Fund. The Novice Classes in the Buckeye Fall Fest have been expanded to allow all small breeders (owning less than 20 registered females per breed) to participate and compete against their peers. The Youth classes, judged by Wade Gease, will be held Sunday afternoon in the pavilion located directly across the driveway on the overhang side of the Arena.

This year’s show has two show programs designed by Renee Ritenour, Sign Quik and Alpaca Palace. Most sponsors from the cancelled spring show have returned to sponsor this double show, giving great value to the pre-printed program from March. New sponsors are included in this program, along with a complete listing of show sponsors and an updated schedule. This year’s show continues our ongoing commitment to Make A Difference! We will all make it work, maintaining a safe environment, while having fun and getting a fair and full evaluation of the progeny of our breeding programs. Continuing the Buckeye tradition – “The #1 fun show in the Nation!” Mary Reed
