The Board of the Öxarfjörður District Heating Utility The company’s annual accounts for the year 2018 are available at the Norðurþing office in Kópasker, the annual accounts can also be sent via e-mail.
Women and Cancer – Let’s Think About Our Health!! An invitation letter from the Icelandic Cancer Society´s search centre has been sent to women who are advised to come to a cancer examination at the HSN clinic on Húsavík from April 8th to April 12th. Those who have received a letter can make an appointment by phoning 4640501 from 10:30 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 16:00 until April 5th. Alexander Smárason, gynaecologist, does cervical examinations. All women aged 40 to 69 are eligible to be screened for breast cancer. The screening is done by X-ray every two years. All women aged 23 to 65 are eligible for cervical cancer screening. The screening involves taking a cervical smear every three years.

Harbour Guard Wanted in Bakkafjörður Langanesbyggð wishes to recruit an employee in a community centre with a harbour Guard in Þórshöfn as the main work. Field of work: - Take care of the general activities of the harbour and its customer service - Weighing of marine catch and registration of landing information - Surveillance of harbour areas, traffic around them and traffic and daily maintenance of harbour facilities and port facilities - The security of the port, pollution prevention and port protection The port guard is an employee of the Langanes building service centre and works other incidental jobs as appropriate at any time. Residency in Bakkafjörður is a preference. Salaries are according to the wage agreements of the local wage committee to the municipality in question.
