The first document we watched was a speech from an African author CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE who said surprisingly said that we should all be feminists.
In her speech, among personal anecdotes she tried to prove that life wasn't the same for men and women.
There were still prejudices against them like for example when the hotel employee assumed that she couldn't make her own money even if she had given him a tip.

She wanted to make the point that women should be themselves and shouldn't care of what people think of their outfits for instance.
Also, she also said that women shouldn't always feel the urge of justifying themselves or or showing their worth.
Her speeches became so famous that even Beyonce found inspiration in her words.

In Document 2, we saw that the first countries that gave women suffrage were the island of Corsica and New Zealand for instance in 1893.
After came Australian in 1902.
This is all the more surprising than it took so long for Great Britain to do the same.
We also saw a list of women who really made a difference and who all in their way, changed people's visions of women.
Let's take for example Malala Yousafzai, who, although having been shot started to take action to ensure that young girls would have access to education.
Finally, through different extracts from the movie Suffragette we saw what being a woman at the beginning of the century. We saw how

diďŹƒcult their lives were and that the MPs drove them to extremes and they had no other choices than to take action.
All these women by making themselves known contributed to a form of progress that guaranteed the next generation to have voice.
