Felt or soft felt (red and black) Black elastic thread Black embroidery thread Pins Sewing needle Scissors and sewing machine
Start creating the super masks preparing all the materials. Print and cut out the masks shapes, take care to measure your children’s faces. If the size is too big, reduce a little the edges when printing. When the Spiderman and Batman silhouettes are ready put them on the red soft felt for Spiderman and on the black one for Batman. Put the pins to secure them. Cut two times (to make them more resistant ) each shape on the soft felt. Take a needle and a black thread (used twice and with a knot close to the bottom) and started embroidering from the center of the eyes a vertical and an horizontal line. Continue creating diagonal lines. Embroider it slowly across the mask as a spider but only on one of the two red sides of the mask, we will use the other to close the work on the back. Once the spider web on the front of the mask is finished, cut a piece of elastic thread after having measured the child's head and form a double knots at the
4
ends of the thread. Pins the two soft felt parts and in the sides enter the elastic thread’s knots. If you have the sewing machine, start sewing the edges at about 23 mm from the edge in order to lock the elastic thread between the two parts. If you do not have a sewing machine the process is the same, try to make the points very close by hand. Sew the edge around the eyes always about 2-3 mm. The mask is now over! To make the mask of Batman, the process is much easier, once you have cut out two shapes on black soft felt you only need to measure the elastic, make knots, pin the top part with the bottom one and sew inner and outer edges. And even the mask of Batman is ready! Hurray for Carnival!

soft spring made by Mariella Materials Cloth Scissors Measuring tape Cotton Waxed Paper (2 sheets) Carbon paper Sewing machine Fabric relief colors Padding
I am Mariel la ... I’m an employee, but my mainly work is to be a mom and a wife. During the day I’m devoted to my work and, as soon as I get free, I dedicate the rest of my time to my child, that gives me unforgettable moments and I gives me the joy of life that makes everything more beautiful. In the evening, when the house falls asleep… my baby is sleeping and my husband is makes his hobbies ... I enter in my sweet little creative world, that for some time takes me away from the real world and makes me live on my little cotton candy cloud. First of all choose a fabric suitable for the project you want to create. In this case, we have a writing and a picture, I’m going to choose a solid color fabric for the front of the pillow , for the back pick your favorite one. I chose a purple cloth for the front and a patterned one for the back. Now trace the design we want to write on the fabric. You can choose... if you are very good at drawing, you can do it by hand, or, as I did, I used the carbon paper, starting from the picture . Once you have traced the writing and the picture start using the colored embossing marker, take care to hold the marker slightly raised. The result should be like in the photo. Now let it dry for about 12 hours ... I usually do it in the evening and it can dry overnight. Once dried, place the fabric in the middle of two of waxed paper sheets and ironed on the reverse, without steam, applying light
6
pressure. Do not press too much or you could also flatten the design. Our goal is that the design will magically "dilatate" , through the heat of the iron. Now bring the sewing machine! Put the two fabrics right sides together, pin and sew along the edges and leave a small part open , in order to turn the pillow. Cut the corners (a little bit), in this way the pillow will be easier to turn ( be careful not to cut the seam!) Stir the pillow and fill it with padding. Sew the open part and your spring pillow is ready!

Bloomed Polyshrink made by Ilaria Materials
Hello! I'm Ilaria, I'm 25 and I spend my free time creating things. I share this passion with my boyfriend who also helps me with my projects. I love working with felt, FIMO, resin and Polyshrink. I also love stamps and punches, and sometimes I mix all of them with embossing powders. I like experimenting new techniques, viewed on internet thanks to photographic collections. I love fantasy or even Christmas and Halloween projects. I often make hobbies markets with other girls with the same creativity passion.
Polyshrink (in this case I used the opal polyshrink) Colored ink pads Black ink pad Stamp Metal rings of two different sizes Small punchers (possibly a circular shape) Earwires Ruler
A brief introduction to who is not familiar with this material. Polyshrink, or Shrink Plastic, is a heat-shrinkable plastic. What does shrink mean? It means that with the heat, this material shrinks of about half of its size and increases in thickness. It is sold online or in supplied creative stores, you can find it transparent or colored and also printable. You can color it with crayons or inked pads and warm it in the oven or with the hot air gun. Below you will find the process to create Earrings with this material. Cut two Polyshrink rectangles of about 8x10 cm and make a hole in the top
10
centre with the circular punch. The hole will be used to insert the ring to attach the earring. Use the pads to dab the rectangles, using different colors and mixing them together. The colors you choose will become darker once the Polyshrink will be heated and shrunk. Take the stamp and dab it in the black ink, then stamp on the two rectangles. If you want, make another hole down in the middle of the Polyshrink with another punch. Now heat it, you can choose to bake your pieces at 180 째 C for 3 minutes or use the hot air gun. If you use the second choice try to evenly heat the piece, in order to make it shrink in the same way. While heating, the Polyshrink will shrivel up, but in the end he will regain his original back straight form. Let it become cooler a few minutes and hook the big ring and then the earwires.

Mini Heros made by Silvia Materials Kid’s body white or solid color Cloth marker Black cotton cloth Stiffener paper (vlieseline) Pins For The little Price body: Yellow cotton cloth Metallic embossed marker
Print the word you prefer from the magazine. The print should not be mirrored. Cut out the printed paper and the symbol of Batman. Take the marker and insert the printed paper inside the body, in the middle of the two cotton layers, the front and the back of it. Leave some space from the neck for the Batman symbol. Pin the paper to the body with pins. Start tracing the letters with the
12
cloth marker. Iron well the body on the back when the words are dry. Take care to cut the symbol of Batman very well and place it over the paper vlieseline, it is a glue paper that will attach it first to one side on the fabric and then removing the paper will be attached on the other side. Cut a piece of vlieseline big enough for the symbol and turn it on the black cloth from the glued side. Iron it on the black cloth, once cooled traced the edges of the
Batman symbol. Cut carefully out the Batman symbol now on the glued cloth, remove the paper from the vlieseline and iron the symbol on the body, on the top, just above the words and just below the neck. The symbol is well glued, but if you wash it a lot it may comes off, so I decided to sew around the edge with the sewing machine and black thread. Sew around the inside Batman’s edge, it is very sharp and thin in some places, take care to go slow. Iron it well on the back before washing it. Remember not to wash it to more than 40 ° and to iron it always on the back. For the Little Prince body the process is the same, you only have to replace the cloth marker with a metallic embossed marker, or a color that you prefer. Also in this case it is always better to wash it no more than 40 ° and to iron it always on the back.

Dream Catcher made by Laura Materials Embroidery hoop 1 old doily Charms, beads, feathers Big white wool thread Big rough twine 2 types of ribbon lace Pieces of cream-colored linen fabric (roses) Hot glue
Hello I'm Laura, a mother of three daughters, a wife, and a sewaholic blogger. I love sewing, embroidering and crocheting. I’m a passionate and spontaneous self-taught in everything I make. I like creating everything that goes through my mind. This was the reason that encouraged me to realize my personal sewing patterns . In addition I also have published three paper books, and an ebook. I love my home, where everything talks about me. My inspiration come from: the Nordic style, cottages, country and coastal furniture. I mix them giving birth to my personal artistic expression. If you want to know more about me, please visit my blog www.lauracountrystyle.com
The dream catcher tradition originated in some native peoples of North America and is represent a magic talisman that can give us happy dreams. Various legends tell that placing a dream catcher near the bed, all the bad dreams get caught in the net of the web, while pleasant dreams come to us making our nights peaceful.
LAKOTA TRIBE DREAM CATCHER LEGEND In ancient times an old spiritual leader was on top of a mountain and had a vision. Iktomi, the deception and prudence God, appeared in the form of spider and made a hole in an old willow tree, where he placed 'feathers, horse hair and beads. Soon after, he started spinning a web. When he finished, he said to the wise old man from the Lakota tribe "this net it’s a perfect circle with a hole in the centre." You must use it to help your people to achieve their objective, make a good use of ideas, dreams and visions.
14
When you believe in the Great Spirit, the web can grab good ideas and let the bad ones get lost through the hole. Nowadays this means that at any time of our life there are many forces that go with us (good or bad). If we listen we will always go in a better direction (the bad always carry us in the wrong direction). This legend is considered sacred by Lakotas. Nowadays they still hang the dream catcher at the entrance of their homes as many of us hang a horseshoe as a good luck.
Cut out the doily in order to put and secure it inside the embroidery hoop. Hang the charms on a rough wire and the feathers on a resistant cotton thread ; cut, the threads of wool, wire and lace of different length. Make a string of pearls (at least ten). Cut a rectangle of cloth thin as the edge of the embroidery hoop (length: less than the quarter of the circle), and glue, the wires, the rope, the lace, feathers, charms and the string of pearls on it. Glue on the back of the embroidery hoop the rectangle of cloth. Make three roses made of fabric, glue a bead in the center of all of them and glue them to the frame.

Easter Bunny made by Laura Materials Bottle jar’s cap (a small one) Ecru linen, or medieval cloth Cream, pink and green soft felt Gingham ribbon and rough twine Hot glue Fabric Marker Needle and thread
For this Easter project, I was inspired by the cute Easter bunny drawn in children’s books. It can become a nice close towel or place holders in our Easter table. The project is really simple to make and you can have fun and make it with your children.
Cut a large circle (about ½ more compared to your cap). With needle and thread make a string along the circumference, place the cap, tighten well curl and make a knot.
20
Use the soft felt to cut the silhouettes of the two ears, bent them slightly at the base and glue them to the head. Made a rose and put it at the base of the ears. Made a bow and glue it as you can see from the photo. Cut a small heart from the pink soft felt and glue it as a nose, draw the eyes with the marker. Cut a circle of cream soft felt and paste it on the back of the rabbit/cap, in order to hide the seam. Your funny Easter bunny is ready to decorate your table.

We've being known each other for many years, we have shared our passions, although we were far apart. We're friends that's why I can say that you have change a lot, your creativity has been modified. If before you expressed your art through your home, sewing and crocheting now you express your art with your body. So, before starting the real interview, I'd like to know from you who is Chiara Fiore. Thank you Laura! Well, Chiara is an extremely passionate and curious girl. A person who often changes tastes and inclinations, having been caught by a thousand worlds and possibilities. If sewing and DIY helped me in a bad and lonely period, now my life has taken a different turn and fitness gave me the physical and mental form I have been looking for a long time. I can not say that I have lost my creativity. It will always be part of me somehow. The decoration of the house, the attention to the details, the love for handmade decoration will always be a part of me. But now I need to express myself through new challenges, new horizons, that have nothing to do with manual activities. I only need for myself a stable mental and manual exercise, but I have moved towards a more personal research. Let's go back in time, how did your passion for sewing start? Did you attend some courses or are you self-taught? The passion for sewing began quite by chance. After moving in the Marche region in 2006 I had free time. In some exhibitions I saw wonderful creations made with cloths and I thought about how would I have liked to do things like that. I had never even sewn a button until then let alone to use the sewing machine! I
22
have started sewing after a full immersion patchwork course of a day. I remember feeling bad because they took for granted notions that I absolutely did not know. But that day helped me to overcome fear and learn a few tricks. Back home I started to sew every day for hours. I have read tutorials on the internet, bought books and I kept me informed. I can say that I'm a self-taught and the proof that "where there is a will, there is a way". If you think you do not know how to do something just because you have not ever tried is wrong immersion di patchwork.
Perhaps, more for personal communications as well as creativity.
What does it mean to be creative? To this question, some time ago I would have said that means to have the ability to see beyond the individual objects, to find new uses and new variations to old things or raw materials. In short, I would have defined creativity according to the manual and the decoration in general. Today I can say that creativity is a skill that not "My country nest" tells your art, your home, your everyone has, but it can certainly be cultivated and brand new B&B. What it is your blog, nowadays? improved with exercise. It 'something that involves both the manual, and everyday life.
