Breadbox made by Daniela Materials

"He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head Broderie suisse cloth Anchor Florentine White Cotton and his heart is an artist.” Francis of Assisi. If I had to choose a phrase of my life, this Embroidery ISPE Perlè 8 Cotton, various colors (Essential: 407 Green, would be and maybe one life is not enough to Yellow 303, for the flowers can be achieve all that I have in my mind, but in the used the colors you like the most) meantime I’m collecting notebooks of projects and doing them slowly one after the other 75 cm Ottoman ribbon thanks to whom have so much respect to me 100 cm finishing lace and ask me to do things for them! 150 cm cord daniela.asero@libero.it

Cut a rectangle of cloth 110 cm long and 50 cm wide. Draw half the length with a colored strand. Start to embroider to about 8 cm from the mid string rectangle and follow the pattern. Cut two pieces of Ottoman ribbon of about 36 cm each, and sew them on the two short sides of the rectangle of cloth to about 6cm from the top edge of it. Sew the Ottoman ribbon along the long side to create a slot for the cord (to close the bag).

8

Finish the edges, then apply a lace on both short sides of the rectangle of cloth. Sew from the wrong side of the bag at about 4 cm away from the Ottoman slots; then finish the seam (I usually cut with the zigzag scissors). Open the tips at the bottom of the bag and sew to 4 cm from the tip, to create a base to the bag. Twist the bag and using a safety pin, pass the cord inside the Ottoman slots. Pulling the cord and create a bow. The breadbox is READY !!! P.S. My family is big so the bag is large enough to contain a significant amount of daily bread. If you want to create a smaller box, just decrease the measurements of a few cm.

Interview to LUCIANA of MADE IN CARCERE I've personally met several times Luciana Delle Donne and I’ve decided to ask her a few questions because I think that her story could inspire a lot of people. "The project was created in 2012 from the idea and the collaboration of some street operators of the anti-trafficking service of the City of Venice and Luciana Delle Donne, she is the founder of the brands " Made in Carcere "and" 2nd chance "of Lecce. The experience is about real protagonists: 4 women victims of violence and serious exploitation, in a social protection program and the women in prison of the "Borgo San Nicola" of Lecce; they are tailors by profession and employed by the social cooperative "Officina Creativa". The experience has been put in place in the tailoring workshops inside the prison where women prisoners were taught to free women to learn a profession, a passion: to sew the "Made in Italy". Two organizations involved in a work of social inclusion in favor of women in a deep social marginalization. The City of Venice, for women victims of trafficking and violence, and the Social Cooperative "Officina Creativa" for women prisoners, supported an ' experience of extraordinary scope and very high educational and social value. We like thinking that in this project we all have won".

12

Let's start with the most easy question, I think. How do your ideas come from? Who creates them? I am an improvised stylist and designer, I create the models, though over time I was able to create a synergy with the prisoners for both to create a functional model, and the efficiency of the production, thus reducing the time used for the creation of each model. It’s an interesting target because there is collaboration, we can say that works are made together. To which object are you most proud? The bracelet is the most common and I’m proud of it because it is nice to see perhaps after years people who have it yet, maybe all consumed because they say to wear it all the time. It 'a way to remember this beautiful project. Of course I’m also proud of more complex jobs in the seams and tailoring models, because I notice that prisoners have learned not only the technical, but also, and above all, a working method. The women prisoners with this project learn how to reintegrate themselves into the "real" world that has its own rules and its own time.

back all that he has learned and the good fortune he had." It's a complicate and tiring job, but it gives me satisfaction. Has the lives of women prisoners changed with this project? The life of the prisoners changed not because of me but because of the work itself. The statistics are very clear and precise: 80% of people working in prisons do not return later, while 80% of people who do not work in prison return. There is a definite percentage that indicates that if you work, you learn a method and chances of re-commit crimes decreases. This is important not only for the prisoner himself who has a chance to redeem himself as a socially useful person, but also for the community. Just think that every prisoner costs to the community about € 4,000 per month, to the citizens in the end. It is obvious that the benefit of projects created to decrease the probability of recommitting the same or more offenses is an effort necessary and essential in order to reduce unnecessary costs and pain caused to the community.

Who was Luciana Delle Donne before this project? Luciana was working as a successful manager in bank. A successful career for technological innovation for being the first bank to create the first virtual banking model. "Against all expectations, at the top of my career I decided to change everything and take care of discomfort and social innovation." From technological innovation to social innovation, without ever stopping. "I think anyone who has been successful in professional life has a duty to give

Resin drop made by Ilaria Hello! I'm Ilaria, I'm 26 and I spend my free time creating things. I share this passion with my boyfriend who also helps me with my projects. I love working with felt, FIMO, resin and Polyshrink. I also love stamps and punches, and sometimes I mix all of them with embossing powders. I like experimenting new techniques, viewed on internet thanks to photographic collections. I love fantasy or even Christmas and Halloween projects. I often make hobbies markets with other girls with the same creativity passion.

Materials Gloves Silicone mold Two-components resin Charms Necklace chain Little chain rings Splints for coffee Scale Glitter and white flakes Plastic cup

Before weighing the resin, you must wear gloves, it can be difficult to clean if we get dirty! The ratio of the two-component resin is 10: 6, so if you weigh 10 grams A component you will weigh 6 of the B component. Weigh the resin in a plastic cup and mix it with a splint for at least five minutes in order to mix it well. Please keep attention: the more you mix it slowly, the less you’ll form bubbles. Once your resin is mixed, you can add glitter and/or flakes.

14

Mix the glitter well and pour the resin into the mold. The drying time depends on the brand, usually the resin will dry in about 24 hours. Once dried, you can take off your pendant from the mold and assemble it with the charms and the chain.

Birdhouse made with milk carton made by Ombretta Materials

Empty milk carton Hot glue Clothespin Pen Cutter Ice cream sticks Acrylic colors Wooden round sticks Rope Driller

Hello! My name is Ombretta and I’m a stylist. I am a huge fan of DIY and I love organizing parties of all kinds: baby shower, weddings and theme parties. I like doing all the decorations and composition: from personalized invitations to gifts souvenir. I love big breakfasts shared with friends and talks on Sunday morning, which I often turn into photo-interviews for my blog named "A Sunday morning with". Www.asundaymorningwith.com you can find many tutorials and printable.

Wash the inside of the milk carton and let it dry. Close the upside part with the hot glue and stop it with a clothespin. Drawn with the pen the typical round opening of the birdhouse. Carve along the pen line with the cutter. Cut in two the wooden ice cream sticks and form the roof with hot glue. Paint using acrylic paints. I’ve chosen white and pastel tones. You can make it plain, striped or decorate it with flowers and leaves with your children.

16

Glue the wooden round stick in front of the bird house with hot glue, it will help birds to lean. Pierced at the top with the driller in order to create a hole for the rope. Hang the house.
