Introducing Builds By Lewis

Hi everyone, I’m Lewis and wow I’m totally honored to be featured in SimmedUp magazine. I’m 30 years old and I live in Scotland with my boyfriend. I’ve been playing the sims since the original when I was back in Primary school and I’ve played every installment along the way. I’ve explored all aspects of the game over the years and it's great to see how it has developed over time but I can comfortably say I am now a Sims builder through and through.

Playing The Sims allows me to express my creative side, I’ve always been interested in arts, etc. I always excelled most in creative subjects at school before going on to study photography and film at university. Over the years I’ve moved away from creative work and into a corporate-based office job and therefore the Sims has become my creative outlet. I’ve always enjoyed architecture, if I’m not looking at architecture books I’m usually watching house tours on YouTube for ideas. I absolutely love being able to create beautiful houses from scratch in the Sims that I can then share online. I only recently started my Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and Patreon pages but what a brilliant community we have in the Sims. I’ve gained so much knowledge from fellow simmers and also been able to help others which is great. Above all that though, I’ve made connections with some really great people from all over the world who I chat to most days. My build style varies and I usually have a few projects on the go at the same time, which stops me from getting bored as I usually build large homes that take hours and hours and this way I can go between them. I’ve always played with CC but now I mostly only build using CC, for all the great content the Sims has, it lacks the quality and availability that CC offers. I only use Maxis Match CC and support the same creators through Patreon where I can but there is so much talent in the community it amazes me, my builds would not be possible without them.

As I get older I seem to have less time for playing and unfortunately, the extra time of creating CC lists and sharing, etc takes its toll but it will never be enough to deter me, I fully believe I’ll still be simming in retirement...

In my spare time, I’m usually with my friends, at the gym, watching TV or drinking coffee. I’m excited for the future of the Sims and looking forward to seeing what they create next. Until then, I’m going to keep building and try to work on creating a few speed build videos for YouTube so listen out for this Scottish accent coming your way soon...ha.
