Required Materials:

• Transfer up to 96 credits • Average college GPA: 3.4 • Up to $17,000 in merit scholarships • $2,000 for Phi Theta Kappa members • 8% of undergrads are transfer students • 46% of transfers are from out-of-state • 15% of undergrads are from community colleges • General education courses waived with completed associate’s degree

Transferring to Simmons is easy with the help of our friendly admission staff, generous merit scholarships, and transfer credit policy. Students under 24 who have earned 18+ college-level credits at an accredited institution are considered transfer students. Transfer credit will be granted for courses taken at an accredited institution at the undergraduate level that are comparable to ones offered at Simmons with a passing grade of “C” or better.

Are you thinking of pursuing a career in Nursing? You’re not alone; hundreds of students turn to Simmons for our top-notch programs in health sciences and unparalleled clinical placements around Boston. There are two nursing sequence options for students who do not already have the RN credential. Both tracks lead to a BSN degree and prepare you to take the NCLEX. The options are two years or 16 months (accelerated). The tracks are based on a student’s educational preparedness* and the pace at which you choose to pursue a BSN. * A grade of C+ or better is required for each prerequisite taken prior to transfer and it’s highly recommended that students take prerequisites at Simmons. Applicants typically have a 3.3 GPA or higher in their prerequisites.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST Attend an info session We offer on-campus and online options specific to transfer students

Request transcripts/scores Please have transcripts (high school and college) and test scores (SAT, ACT, or TEAS) sent to our office

Identify recommender We require one letter of recommendation; it can be professional, or academic if enrolled in school within the last three years

Write your personal statement Please submit an essay on a topic of your choice, this is typically about your reason for transferring

Schedule an interview We recommend a formal interview for transfer students
