7 THINGS 7 WAYS TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY

1. Don’t drive. Instead of driving wherever you need to go, ride your bike or take a walk. If you live far from school or work and need to take a car, consider carpooling.

2. Plant a seed. Whether you want to start small with a single seed or take on an entire garden, plant something. If you don’t have the space for plants, you could donate to one of the many tree planting charities instead.

3. Check out earthday.org. Here you can learn all about Earth Day or take a pledge. This website also has a list of Earth Day events so you can find the closest one to you. If you don’t want to go anywhere, virtual Earth Day events with musicians and speakers can be just as fun.

4. Ditch your plastic water bottle. If you haven’t already, it’s time to purchase a reusable water bottle. If you are worried about keeping your water clean, you can find one with a filter. 5. Make another sustainable change. If you have already jumped on the reusable water bottle train, consider making a different switch.

There are many opportunities when it comes to sustainable changes you can make. You could stop buying paper towels and buy some cloth napkins or make some calls and switch to paperless billing.

6. Go outside. Instead of streaming the next season of your newest show addiction, spend some time outside. Go on a walk with friends, family, or your dog. Plan a picnic, head to the park, or read a book in your yard. Whatever activity you decide on, make sure you spend some time outdoors enjoying what the earth has to offer.

7. Prepare a meatless meal. Earth Day is a great time to try a plant-based diet. You do not have to commit to anything, but cutting meat out of your meals for the day can make a difference.

Plus, trying out new recipes is fun!
