Where Family Meets Health Care Capital Multi Health Group

Life is navigated through a variety of relationships. The relationship between doctor and patient is a definitive measurement within our lives, specifically in regard to our health and healthcare. It is also often one of the most difficult relationships to harbor and maintain. Comfortability and honesty are crucial attributes to that positive, continued experience amongst medical professionals and their patients. A local medical group has found a way to both foster and retain great relationships in their community: Capital Multi Health Group.

Since 2019, Capital Multi Health Group has helped heal the community of Crofton, Maryland. Offering services in physical and mental health care, the group has built a rapport of trust, efficiency, and compassion. CEO and co-founder Anyinke Atabong originally couldn’t see herself as a business owner, but four years later she is now overseeing two successful clinics in Crofton and Bowie. Her blooming personality continues to make her a prized psychiatric and family nurse practitioner to patients throughout Maryland and D.C. Clinician Atabong exudes a long-lasting connection with every person she meets and treats. “I’m human just like you – at the end of the day, I just want to you to get well,” stated Atabong. She believes by being authentically herself, her patients feel safe to open up with her. There’s even multiple outstanding reviews online about her kind spirit and candid nature. This warm demeanor flows into all staff at Capital. In fact, a recent patient shared with Atabong how sweet and efficient the front desk clerks are. When speaking of her lovely staff, Atabong declared, “We are family”. Her sentiment depicts how the community within Capital works harmoniously together so that the friendliness they display outwardly is authentic and genuine.

Along with their nurturing climate, Capital Multi Health Group also provides assistance with behavioral issues, physical health, substance abuse, weight loss, and so much more. The clinichas created an atmosphere where individuals receive “care that is structured for them in a stigma free environment”. Their patients enter not only knowing they are safe to express themselves, but also that they will receive care targeted to help their individual needs.

One specialty Capital Multi Health Group offers is guidance and education on medical marijuana. There is significant ignorance surrounding the use of marijuana medicinally, so this clinic makes it a point to educate and inform patients about their options so that they may make the decision that is best for themselves. With around a 50% Black patient demographic, it also extremely imperative that Capital has constructed a space for Black and POC patients to safelyand openly discuss their aide through use of alternative options. It is clear to see why patients within the walls of Capital Multi Health Group are at ease knowing they will be heard and cared for. From exceptional staff to heartfelt medical advice, it is obvious why patient retainment and referral has remained superb since their opening. Capital Multi Health Group is a gem for the surrounding communities because of their unique diligence and benevolence.
