Tonight, we are very proud to support the inspiring work of Over-The-Rainbow.

text-based chat support service provided by trained volunteers; community outreach initiatives; and a bi-annual magazine. Perhaps most importantly, OTR – via their flagship Wellbeing Champion program – works to empower more and more young people (and families) to achieve wellbeing through practices rooted in good selfcare habits that are holistic and transformative. These initiatives and activities collectively have touched nearly a million lives through both online and offline touch-points, and transformed many others.

Over-The-Rainbow (OTR) is a charity that works to improve youth mental wellness. OTR’s mission is to transform mental wellness for the 21st century. They envision a world where mental illness is no longer stigmatized; where mental wellness is a life priority; and where every young person has the opportunity to realize their full potential through the journey of self-discovery, healing and transformation via holistic self-care and a supportive community.

Initiatives provided by Over-The-Rainbow have become more important than ever. Suicide is the leading cause of death for 10–29-year-olds in Singapore and suicide rates are at an all-time high, steadily increasing year after year. In fact, 2022 saw the highest number of suicides in Singapore since 2000.

A family tragedy in 2009 became the catalyst for the initiative that is Over-The-Rainbow. Chinese Americans Yen-Lu and Yee Ling Chow lost their son and only child Lawrance H. Chow to suicide on October 22, 2009. Lawrence was only 26, but had suffered from manic depression for many years. Over-The-Rainbow is the story of how these grieving parents turned their loss into championing an important cause.

While Covid-19 put the spotlight on mental health and raised awareness on its importance, the stigma associated with mental illness has unfortunately persisted. Over-The-Rainbow aims to change the narrative around this and to help those struggling with mental health so that no parent has to go through what Yen-Lu and Yee Ling had to go through – losing a child to mental illness.

Since launching in October 2012, OTR has been a pioneer and trailblazer in the space of youth mental wellness – innovating and pushing the mental health envelope with countless programs and initiatives. Today, OTR provides affordable professional therapy for youth age 11-20. Parents of troubled youth can also find support. There is also a peer-to-peer, self-help support group; a real-time

The number 8 is quite auspicious in this part of the world, which we call home, and having double 8s makes this an especially lucky start to 2024. We are very excited to have you all join us in this celebration and hope that you enjoy your evening and have a prosperous year ahead.

The American Association of Singapore was founded more than 100 years ago to smooth the transition for American expatriates to Singapore and to bring a little bit of America and American culture to all based here. AAS founded many of the pillars that are very much part of the Singapore community, such as the Singapore American School, the American Chamber of Commerce Singapore, The American Club, and the American Women’s Association. Our mission is to build and strengthen our community, which we try to do with our signature events such as the George Washington Ball, the Ambassador’s Cup Golf Tournament, the Fourth of July Celebration, our Welcome Back Celebration, and Toys for Tots.

Required Risk Warning on Digital Payment Token Services The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requires us to provide this risk warning to you as a customer of a digital payment token (DPT) service provider. Before you pay your DPT service provider any money or DPT, you should be aware of the following. 1. Your DPT service provider is licensed by MAS to provide DPT services. Please note that this does not mean you will be able to recover all the money or DPTs you paid to your DPT service provider if your DPT service provider’s business fails. 2. You should not transact in the DPT if you are not familiar with this DPT. This includes how the DPT is created, and how the DPT you intend to transact is transferred or held by your DPT service provider. 3. You should be aware that the value of DPTs may fluctuate greatly.
