IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!!!! That is what the song sings: it's Christmas time. Finally!! It’s time to dust off our ornaments once more. I admit that I love Christmas. To decide which colour I will use, as I have Christmas ornaments in so many colours: white, purple, orange, red, gold, silver, glass, glitter ‌ And lights... As my sister says rightly, when this time of year comes I get too sappy. If we talk about a decorative trend for this season, the good point is that anything that we consider will be fine. Every year Christmas is reinvented and we can go from the classiest and recharged option, to the most minimalist, fulfilling everything with natural plants, or to a

very white and natural Christmas, as what we bring in this issue editorial and that we have to thank to SIA. Certainly a very good moment to let our imagination fly and create any kind of embellishment we have dreamed: a centrepiece or a beautiful canvas as you can see in our DIY by Tita Fabiola. In addition we bring you a very special Christmas Greeting that is also a very special gift guide, for if you still a bit confused and do not know very well what to ask for to Santa Claus. Besides this shopping guide is a preview of

what in a few days will be the e-shop of Singulares Magazine which will be operational in just a few days and from which we are going to bring a lot of things every week that will make you lose your mind. In Singulares Magazine we have also made our special Christmas wish and… All we want for Christmas is you.

AN UNFORGETTABLE

CHRISTMAS Pictures from a fairy-tale that transport us to snow covered forests, where we find that ideal place where we can relax in a hard winter day by the fireplace and enjoy a Christmas decoration sweet and cosy. We bring some ideas with some rustic, cut Wood and sacking that despite its extreme simplicity get us dazzled, while we contemplate all the splendour of the lights through beautiful glass balls.

Visiting the showroom of Pepe Leal, one of the best representatives of interior design of our country, should be a must for all lovers of interior design. Going over spaces and laying your eyes on the variety of pieces that surround them is the best lesson of decoration, likely (if we may hyperbole) to what should mean for a painter to pass through the different rooms of the Prado Museum or to a writer, to inquire amongst the countless shelves of the National Library.

46 | SINGULARESMAG #8

The boutique of Pepe Leal is also his study from where projects so interesting as the last one, the stunning renovation of the Parador Nacional de Corias (by Erico Navazo and Luis Galliussi) spread. But before there have been many more renovations: houses, locals, different collaborations in Casa Decor, etc., which have appeared around the whole world through the most important industry publications.

Bachelor in Art History, plus restorer and furniture designer, Pepe Leal captures all this knowledge in the work carried out, of an obvious eclecticism. He knows how to mix colours (and flees also as few from monochrome), and how to make pieces of furniture

SINGULAR & MASCULINE

live together with decorative elements of different styles and from different eras, always with a desire of permanence that gives to these places a rabid contemporary air and above all, a very pronounced personality.

The best evidence of this way of working is his study, a showcase where you can find the same arty pieces, both with elements of industrial aesthetics or French furniture, proud of his patina surfaces, of his oriental vases or his

rattan chairs. The only valid premise in the showroom of Pepe Leal is beauty, wherever it comes from. A valuable decor lesson!

YOU WILL NEED · Frame with the desired dimensions

· Thread, needle, thimble and scissors

· Heart shaped template

· Nails

· Fabrics with different prints

· Rope

· Wadding for filling

MANU FACTUM

SINGULARESMAG #8 | 61

1 We draw on the fabric a heart shape with the help of a template that previously we have created.

2 Cut out two hearts for each fabric up to the desired number of models.

62 | SINGULARESMAG #8

3 We baste the hearts without forgetting sews a piece of ribbon that will make our heart hanger. After leaving a hole, add the batting and close the heart.

4 We repeat the above with each of the pieces that we will use during the process.

MANU FACTUM

SINGULARESMAG #8 | 63

5 With the help of a meter, we set a few small nails in the back of our frame to maintain proportional distance from side to side.

6 Finally, we add the several hearts that we have made up and once the row completed, we tie our rope around the nail previously placed. Once we have all the ropes attached and the hearts arranged in a pyramid to simulate the shape of a fir tree, all we have to do is turn our frame and decorate it with a garland of lights.

It's hard not to know David DelfĂn for its long history in the fashion world and not only at national level as he has managed to cross our borders and be equally known in Madrid or New York. But maybe his less known side is the artistic one. He has recently exhibited at Fresh Gallery with outstanding results for any artist worth its salt, as it has sold most of his work. GENIUS LOCI

When it comes to drawing or writing, alone or collaborating, he reveals an image of him unknown until now. His love of art and drawing comes from childhood, thanks to his sister Lola, who gave him his first box of crayons, and even if he doesn’t consider himself

as an artist, he acknowledges that his vocation as a designer came to him through painting. Although its beginnings were as an actor, all this baggage in different artistic disciplines has led to the David DelfĂn that we know today.

Objects that have history, both the tray as the decanter and cups to decorate the table are family inheritance.

Located at the top of the natural park of Collserola, in an environment entirely privileged in the middle of the metropolitan area of Barcelona we found this little house, recently restored following loft own premises. By unifying the different spaces that shaped this old house, and to retrieve the original height of the building, Julia and Ciscu, its owners, got to give this a more visual space, gathering on the same floor as well as

Protected behind a privacy screen and in a few 4m2 the creative process of latitadefabiola takes place. It is a small workshop that Fabiola and Julia have decorated with care and in which they meet every Friday after their working hours. What in the beginning, back in 2008 began as a family time for distraction originated spontaneously today is a small brand whose name seeks to define the kinship between the two.

SINGULARES AT HOME

As they tell us, the name has emerged as a result of the exchange of mails between aunt and niece, when the first one started to sign so in the emails they shared. Also the word "latita" has another special meaning for them, being Julia collector of small cans, she has several cans inside of which they continue to store many of the pieces that they then use to create delicate pieces of jewellery.

SINGULARESMAG #8 | 139

Their passion for jewellery creation is influenced by the fact that the father of "auntie" and Fabiola grandfather was a jeweller-creative.

Being very young, Julia had always interest in the world of beads and jewellery, although she never professionally devoted to it. Back then, Fabiola as a child and fascinated by her “auntie

The name "latitadefabiola" defines the kinship between Julia and Fabiola

Each of their items is numbered in correspondence to its development, being unique pieces created with delicacy.

Located in the downtown of Madrid, close to the metro station of AlonsoMartínez, we found Dray Martina, a beautiful and unique café. This is the latest project of Madrid in Love, "a study of interior design and much more." They define themselves as "designers and transformers of spaces and environments, creators of beautiful and bright interiors, guardians of style and beauty, perfectionists in the details ".

Besides, this time the commitment is their own gastronomic space, along with other partners, some of them from the extremely well known Maricastaña, in the neighbourhood of Triball. With a short existence (it has been only two months since the opening), we can already say that it’s one of the trendiest restaurants in the Spanish capital.

LOLITA BAKERY The idea of Lolita Bakery came during the holidays of three entrepreneurs, Carolina, Martina and Vicky. They opened their store in the district of El Born, in 2009, and gave to it a vintage style, full of recovered pieces. Much of the furniture was found in the street or acquired at second hand shops. Two large exhibitors of a former bakery preside over the shop, where you can

Among the different products that you can enjoy in this place you have cupcakes of different colours, flavours and textures, and also huge cupcakes that serve as a birthday cake.
