BIKE TRAIL The city of Sioux Falls has over 27 miles of bike trail. The trail system not only takes you on a scenic tour of the City parks system, but it provides a safe and efficient travel option for those wishing to travel the city by bike. The trail system is maintained all year-round and can be used in the winter months. The bike trail system offers residents a perfect opportunity for wellness and fitness opportunities by walking, biking, or blading on paved trails. A map of the trail system can be found at www.siouxfalls.org/bike. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Parks and Recreation has three sites available for dog off-leash areas: • Family Park—Located at 300 North Ellis Road, near West 12th Street on the Tea/Ellis Road. This 90-acre park features two ponds which are stocked twice a year, two picnic shelters, restrooms, and walking trails. This premiere nature area offers a boat ramp and docks for fishing. • A three-acre off-leash dog park includes walkways, bench seating, shade structures, drinking fountains, dog wash stations, natural dog play features, along with a large open area. • A 22-acre off-leash open area is clearly marked with boundary signage. This expansive space allows outdoor enthusiasts the ability to conduct various dog training activities. • Lien Park—Located on the east side of North Cliff Avenue at the Big Sioux River, approximately one-quarter mile north of the Rice Street and Cliff Avenue intersection. Parking is available. • Spencer Park—Located at 3501 South Cliff Avenue by I-229. This is a permanently fenced dog park with off-street parking available. Rules for usage are posted. Each site has a picnic table, trash receptacle, and plastic bag dispenser for owners to use to pick up after their pets. For more information, call 367-8222. FREE.
