A MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGER: Debra Reece We invite you to review a summary of sales activity in the Palm Beach area during the second quarter of 2016. The Palm Beach Multiple Listing Service reports the following statistics for this quarter, in comparison with the second quarter of 2015: Total dollar volume of single-family home sales in Palm Beach rose an impressive 37% during this quarter, correlating with a 29% increase in the median sale price and a 37% increase in the average sale price. These price increases offset the fact that the total number of homes sold remained unchanged in comparison with the previous year’s second quarter. While the inventory of single-family homes increased by 12%, the average number of days on the market shortened slightly, at 5%, down to 261 days. Single-family home sales outperformed those of condominiums in Palm Beach, both in town and in the south end. The total number of in-town condominiums sold was down by 44%, and total dollar volume was 38% lower. In the south end, the total number of units sold was down by 25% and total dollar volume was 29% lower, although the median sale price was up by 10%.
