To alleviate the concern of some River Oaks residents over the increased traffic that a museum in their prestigious enclave would bring, she had a charming footbridge built over the bayou so that visitors could reach Bayou Bend with an entrance at 6003 Memorial at Wescott and without driving through the neighborhood. And through the decades, people have flocked to Bayou Bend to tour the home and take sublime walks through the grounds.
