I gave her flowers today to make her smile. I gave her flowers to help ease the pain of the blows she accepts without a word or tear. I gave her flowers today in lieu of a lecture that would tell her enough is enough. It’s time to stand up and walk away.

I gave her flowers today with the hopes that she will see that someone else loves her too... Why not love her. I gave her flowers today not to justify his actions of abuse.

For today, would be that dreadful day that I said good bye one last time as we lay her to rest.
