READ: Ecclesiastes 6:10-12 NIV Jeremiah 18:6 NIV Romans 9:21-24 NIV

Everything you do in this life has already been decided by God; whether you understand it or if it does not make any sense. God has already predestined our footsteps. In Ecclesiastes 6: 10-12 NLT states “Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny. The more words you speak, the less they mean. So why overdo it? In the few days of our empty lives, who knows how our days can be best spent? And who can tell what will happen in the future after we are gone?” God knows and directs everything that happens, and he is in complete control over our lives, even though at times it may not seem like it. How foolish it is for us to contend with our Creator, who knows us completely and can see the future. In Jeremiah 18:6 NIV says “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.” I would like for you to visualize a potter molding or shaping clay on the wheel. A perfect example is the movie Ghost when Demi Moore was pottering and some of her pottering was not perfect and she would give up and stop and then try again. In this movie Demi Moore had control over the clay to clean up the defects or reshape the pottery.

Reflect Pray

Father God, in the name of Jesus help me to fulfill my purpose in life. Help me to stay on a straight and narrow road because in your word wide is the way to destruction. Place people in my life to help me become all I need to be to get to the next level in my life. In Jesus Name! Amen

Now think about God. God has the power to reshape the nation to conform to his purposes. God has the power to transform any one to do His will. God already said his word will not come back void. Our strategy should not be to become mindless and passive on one aspect of clay, but to be willing and receptive to God’s impact on us. I would like for you to pay attention to the work God is doing in your life. As we yield and obey God, he begins to reshape us into valuable vessels. Think about a time where God was so patient with you and the only thing you could see was God’s mercy and grace in your life? Think about some areas of your life where God rescued you from yourself when you were heading for destruction or already in destruction? How did he turn your life around? What are some of the things God did for you?

About Us

Our Mission: We deliver innovative care, support, treatment and education to vulnerable youth so that they heal, believe in their worth, and build the skills needed to succeed.

Our Vision: We will ensure that vulnerable youth and families are supported, prepared and equipped to achieve lifelong success.

Our Core Values:

 Respect the sanctity of life, intrinsic dignity and inherent worth of all individuals  Honor Vista Maria's spiritual foundation  Empower our employees and consumers to achieve positive change  Demonstrate compassion and genuine concern for others in all of our actions  Celebrate the diverse cultural heritage and background of all our consumers and stakeholders

Philosophy of Care: Vista Maria's success is based on the philosophy of Saint Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, who founded the Sisters of the Good Shepherd - the community of women who founded Vista Maria. Her compassion, empathy, and interest in helping marginalized women and children evolved out of her own experience as a troubled adolescent.

This underlying spirituality guides the Sisters and lay staff at Vista Maria today. Our philosophy of care flows from a theology of love and our staff has fully incorporated this into their work. Every girl is treated as a unique individual - worthy of love based on just who she is. Therapy is designed around each girl's individual experiences and needs. This encompasses a variety of activities that address the physical, spiritual, intellectual, and recreational well being of the girls.

Our staff knows that healing takes place in connection with others. Thus, their goal is to create an environment in which healing can occur. Each girl is given love, affection, and someone to talk with (not at) them. This approach is holistic and life-giving.
