The Name Game
1
Write down the names of one to five products or services that you offer. As you review the specific name of each product, I want you to keep two things in mind. First, when it comes to marketing, it is better to be clear and concise than clever and cute. In other words, when potential customers read the name of your offers, they should be able to quickly and clearly understand what you are selling. Second, keep in mind that confused buyers don’t buy. If people don’t understand your offer, see it's value, or truly believe it’s the right fit for them, they will walk away. When deciding on the names of your products try to make sure your titles are specific, meaning they clearly state your offer.

For example, let’s say I was selling a collection of templates. I could use the title ‘3 Terrific Girl Boss Templates’ or ‘ 3 Lead Magnet Templates for Today’s Girl Boss.’ The second title is better as it clearly defines the offer and even describes the target person this product was created for. Use specific titles as often as you can and when possible, take things a step further by mentioning your target customer type in the title.
If you
absolutely insist on using cute or clever titles, be sure to integrate subtitles and clear descriptions that help to further elaborate on your offer and ideal customer.

Leverage Your Circle
2
While many entrepreneurs secretly dream of one day being discovered by someone famous or posting content that goes viral online, for most of us, fame is something that’s homegrown. Rather than wishing to be discovered or to become an overnight success, consider a more proactive approach to growing your visibility. Create a list of direct contacts, people you know who might be willing to work with you, feature you or promote you on some level. Think about connections you have who are connected to influential people or potential customers you want access to. Think about people who might love to be an ambassador for your brand, affiliate or joint venture partner.

Think about people who own, work for, or write for print and online publications on which you can be interviewed or create content for as a guest expert. Think about friends who own, work in, or know of local spaces you can use for events, local magazines looking for new faces to feature and local radio stations or television shows with guest appearance opportunities. Think about people who would be willing to put your products in their stores or offer event space for a launch party, or book signing. Think about people who would be willing to review your products, offer feedback on your website, or connect you to qualified professionals who can help your business grow.

Think about fellow entrepreneurs and influencers you know that offer coverage, collaborations and feature opportunities on their blogs, podcasts, social media pages, video channels or live streaming platforms. You don’t have to market alone or secretly pray for someone popular to put you on. Always remember that your wins begin within. Make this list of people who exist within your circle, then reach out to them. Your efforts just might lead to a few collaborations, media opportunities, partnerships, and exposure. Even a small list with just a few names is a great start.

Ask for Shares
3
If you are taking the time to create great content to better market your business online, you should also take the time to ask your followers to help you share that content. It’s time to get your ASK in gear. When posting on social media platforms, proactively ask for shares and encourage your followers to tag friends who may find your posts to be entertaining, educational, inspiring, or all of the above. When creating both audio and video content, at the beginning, middle, and end be sure to give yourself queues that will remind you to mention “Share Requests” to your viewers.
