Without Ads Marketing and Sales GUIDE


START HERE I was sitting on a clarity call with a client one day and she said to me, “LaShanda, I’m really curious about how you get people to buy your stuff online without using ads. I’ve tried a few advertising campaigns to market my business, but they didn’t work out as well as expected. What are you doing to attract customers and generate steady sales?” Wow, what a great question. Before I share my answer, let me first say that at that moment I realized her struggle was a shared struggle among many entrepreneurs today.

This guide was something that I

absolutely felt compelled to write for her and possibly you too, so I hope it helps.


MY METHOD TO THE MADNESS THAT IS ONLINE MARKETING AND SALES I often humorously tell my mentees that I started my online business on a “floss string” budget because shoestring was simply not an option! Forget low funds, I pretty much had no funds, which is why I turned to organic marketing from the very beginning. Because I couldn’t afford to invest in paid ad campaigns or sponsored search engines placement, I click by click built a community around my brand by creating attention grabbing content. Content Marketing is the most effective way to market and sell more without ads if you can get into the habit of consistently producing valuable information related to the offers you sell. As a web designer and business mentor, over the years I’ve shared a ton of content in the form of blog posts, interviews, videos, virtual events, podcasts and digital guides. By consistently doing these things overtime, I’ve successfully built up a following and an established business brand.


RE-ENGAGE MORE If you’ve made any effort to get better at promoting your business online I’m sure at some point you’ve heard about or even tried content marketing. But let’s dig a little deeper, and I will share three game changers that you might not have considered before. For starters, a crazy photo, funny video or interesting article can catch anyone’s eye for a minute, but the real magic is keeping someone’s attention once you have captured it. One way to get better at Content Marketing is to learn how to reengage with your online viewers more often and for longer periods of time. You can do this by using activities that they can try individually or as a group. I strategically create or relaunch a signature challenge for my community at least once every quarter. REPURPOSE MORE You should also learn how to repurpose your content more. The methods that I use to quickly create my own content are the same methods that I share in private calls with clients, in virtual classes with mentees, and in digital products for my customers. The same people will buy the same content from you if you learn how to sell it in different ways and different people will buy the same content from you if you offer it in formats that appeal to their interest. Some people will buy the same offer as a book, course and service because they want it in every variation. Some people will buy the book because they prefer to read. Others buy the course because they prefer hands-on instruction. And others will buy the service because they prefer to pay to have it done than do it for themselves. You can market better and sell more by repurposing your stuff more. Rather than overextending myself trying to maintain multiple business models, I’ve found the most success in tapping into multiple income streams that really all stem from finding creative ways to repurpose the same content. REACTIVATE MORE One more thing you how to reactivate more of your previous customers. It’s easier to sell to a previous customer than a new one. And the easiest way to reactivate an old customer is by retaining them, preferably through some type of subscription-based offer. Think about how many things you used to buy in the past that are now only available through subscription packages. Smartphones are so expensive that most people purchase them through 3-year payment plan agreements. The software you used to buy at your local store is now available online as a subscription service. Beyond traditional household utility bills, these days most of us are signed up to more subscriptions than we can count because there is a great deal of money being made this way.
