Shape your life at Southern Career Services - Whether you’re looking for a summer internship or to just sharpen up your resume, the Business Placement Center is here for you. The BPC is dedicated to helping students identify their strengths and show prospective employers that the SIUC College of Business has prepared them for greatness. The BPC offers assistance in resume building, mock interviews, and internship/job search. The BPC will help you find the right career path. Externship Program - Every year, dozens of SIUC students dedicate their spring break to professional development by participating in an externship. The participants are connected with a program sponsor who works in a similar area of interest. The
student spends a week learning more about the industry, and is able to apply classroom knowledge to this real-world environment. In the past, more than 50 percent of participants have been offered jobs or internships due to their participation in this program. Center for Innovation - The Partnership for Innovation Center (P4I) was created to encourage cooperative partnerships across SIUC, to facilitate interdisciplinary research and education, and to provide assistance with development and commercialization of innovations in the Southern Illinois region. The Kraft Trading Room enhances the profile of SIU’s College of Business in a number of ways. For example, the trading room allows students in finance classes to actively participate in market simulations. From a practical standpoint, the trading room also gives students hands-on experience in formulating trading strategies.
