Capstone Option: More than 30 programs are eligible for the Capstone Option. Capstone may reduce your University Core Curriculum requirements if you hold an eligible associate degree, which puts you on a faster track to your bachelor’s degree.

Most students apply one year before they intend to come to SIU. Applying early gives you the best chance of admission, scholarships and financial aid.

Financial Aid Deadline:

Complete the FAFSA after Oct. 1 but before Dec. 1 for priority consideration.

Scholarships

• Become admitted and fill out the General Scholarship Application by Dec. 1 to be considered for the greatest number of scholarships. • All academic scholarship offers are made electronically – be sure to check your email frequently and respond promptly to any offers. • See what’s available in your area, find deadlines and details: scholarships.siu.edu Submit a Transfer Scholars Program Application by Feb. 17 in order to be considered for the Provost’s and Transfer Achievement Scholarships. You will need to be admitted to SIU by Feb. 1. Provost’s Scholarships cover full tuition and mandatory fees for two years.

Transfer Achievement Scholarships provide a total value of $16,000 for two years.

Dean’s Transfer Scholarships award $4,000 each year for two years.

Installment payment plan. SIU offers an interest-free monthly payment plan with flexible payment options. Tuition guarantee. The tuition you pay your first semester is locked in for four years. Tuition increases will not affect you. Legacy Tuition Rate. If your parent or guardian is an SIU graduate, you qualify. Members of Phi Theta Kappa may be eligible for a $3,000 PTK scholarship.
