We had a response of 51.9%, which is exciting because your input will help our team better prioritize our support and efforts to advance the fraternal experience at SIUE. Interpersonal Relationship Skills Score: 6.11
Membership in SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life has allowed members to meet new people, transfer social skills to other settings, establish effective social skills, and establish close friendships.
Greatest Weakness
Fraternity/Sorority Programming* Score: 5.47
Members of SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life are least satisfied with the following types of programs: alumni activities, athletic activities, educational experiences, and community service programs. *This is the second greatest weakness, the greatest weakness was housing. *Fraternities and sororities at SIUE do not currently have housing as defined by this assessment.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT Greatest Impacts for Community
Self-Worth Score: 6.08
If self-worth in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community is improved, it will have the greatest impact on Overall. SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life should work to improve fraternity and sorority members' understanding of their ability to contribute to the success of their chapter, their feeling of accomplishment, and their passion about achieving their's chapter's goals.
Personal Development Skills Score: 5.53
If personal development skills in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community are improved, it will have the second greatest impact on Overall. SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life should work to improve fraternity and sorority members' ability to establish effective study schedules, written communication skills, and ability to set priorities to accomplish what is most important.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT Greatest Impacts for Community
Intrapersonal Competence Score: 5.81
If intrapersonal competence in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community is improved, it will have the third greatest impact on Overall. SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life should work to improve fraternity and sorority members' knowledge of their talents, knowledge of their limitations, self-esteem, and self-motivation.
Effective Chapter Leadership Score: 5.79
If effective chapter leadership in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community is improved, it will have the fourth greatest impact on Overall. SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life should work with fraternity and sorority leaders' on their ability to distribute responsibilities across all members of their fraternity/sorority, clearly articulate member responsibilities, and give members of their fraternity/sorority responsibility to accomplish goals.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT Greatest Impacts for Community
Collaboration Score: 5.74
If collaboration in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community is improved, it will have the fifth greatest impact on Overall. SIUE Fraternity & Sorority Life should work to improve fraternity and sorority members' ability to communicate well with each other, trust each other, and treat each other respectfully.
WE ASKED YOU ANSWERED Out of the fraternity and sorority members who participated in this assessment... 92.1% felt more connected to SIUE because of their fraternity or sorority experience. 85.7% stated their fraternity or sorority experience impacted their decision to stay at SIUE. 72% stated hazing is not prevalent in the SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Community. 71.4% intended to join a fraternity or sorority when they came to SIUE. 63.7% stated they may donate to a general fraternity/sorority scholarship fund after graduation if they had more information. 63.2% stated they may be willing to pay a general fraternity/soroirty student fee that would provide additional leadership experiences and programming opportunities if they had more information. 60.9% became aware of SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Life before their first year at SIUE.
