MATERIALS • 2 1¾oz/50g skeins (each approx 440yd/400m) of Fibra Natura/Universal Yarn Whisper Lace (superwash wool/silk) in #104 Fog • One pair size 4 (3.5mm) needles, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE • Stitch markers

GAUGE 21 sts and 24 rows to 4"/10cm over lace pats using size 4 (3.5mm) needles. TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE Slip the first stitch of every row purlwise wyif for selvage st. SCARF Cast on 120 sts. Row 1 (RS) Sl 1, k to end. Rep last row for garter st for 7 rows more. Next row (WS) Sl 1, k4, pm, p37, pm, p73, pm, k5.

SPRING/SUMMER 2018 LACE COCOON CARDI

Joan McGowan-Michael’s lacy bell-sleeve cocoon cardigan is knit in three pieces for one altogether dramatic look. The two body pieces are worked in a Frost Flowers pattern with their ribbed edges before joining at the back. The lower border is picked up along one edge and worked downward in a mesh stitch that finishes with a simple rib.
