Project Background The project is about cabin which is a private space for chill and sleep. However, the purpose of this cabin is for the people who would like to stay in nature and live with their loves together. The site location of the cabins is in Attenborough Nature Reserve which consists of fresh air, greens and animals. The essential of this cabin is that prople can enjoy the nice view while they are relaxing and sharing the best moment of their family time. However, the cons of this project is that the place here is not crowded with the forests of wide sea or lake, so that the cabin should need to be more privacy to the people who live here. So let's get started...

This area is prominently built with water and greens. However, there is the neighborhood around the nature reserve. Many travellers are mostly nearby citizens who are jogging with families or walking with their pets, the others will be people who try to enjoy the nature landscape.

Feeling Nature Cabin one - 2 person occupancy at Attenborough Nature Reserve

"I find it a pleasing challenge that the weather dictates usage," Philippe added. "I like working with nature as opposed to fighting it."

12

1. The preexistence of the landscape dictates the humility of the intervention. considering the site in its scared dimension, the project aims to approach it in its natural, virgin power and strength. The intervention is serving the landscape, revealing it.

2. For finding the balance between human and nature, this is a nice place for exploring and adventure. Using the local materials is the best way to express the harmonious.

Concept This is a cabin for 2 person occupancy. Taking the advantage of nice nature views and wide field of vision the skylight and decking are the highlight of the whole desige. The texture of materials are changing time by time with sunlight instead of using varieties of materials to decor the cabin. It is not only save the budget, but also tempting.

A chilling, warm afternoon vibe is essential for a cabin, normally people who will use it when they are on a vacation or holiday. Even thought it is rainy outside, you can sit here and hear the sound of rain and feel the breeze. Chevron grey solid oak floor

Vinyl Panel

Linen The ceiling and walls of decking are like a frame of the view, when you are sitting there. It is not only the view you enjoy, but also you are in the view. Most materials are timber or linen which are nearly close to nature. Using less metal marbel and glass can be environmental protection and money saving.

A Plan 1:100

When looking out of the window, the sunlight from behind shone on the body. The sun is not dazzling, but it is warm. The scenery outside the window is the endless plains and lakes. The height of the windows is just right, so you can enjoy the scenery and sunlight while sitting at the dining table. The materials used in the room are the original ecological wood color and cotton and linen materials. When the weather is hot in summer, the temperature of the cabin will not be very high, because the sun is shining into the house at less than 69 degrees instead of direct sunlight. The survey shows that EQUINOX is the best angle for installing solar energy.

29

DECKING

When you are sitting on the decking, what you see is not only the beauty, you also become the beauty in others' cameras. Sunlight is not shining from the front, but passing through the gap between the wooden bars behind in the afternoon. The light and shadow will be always changeing with time so that the scenery will not become plain and boring.

30

KITCHEN

ENTRANCE

When you walk into this cabin, you are greeted by the wooden partition exposed to sunlight. The texture of the material is naturally revealed.
