Are my details up to date on My Pay? When was the last time you checked your personal details on MyPay? Life changes … we move house, update our phones, our email contact etc .. and as busy humans, remembering to update our records can slip our minds. It only takes a smidge of time to check and update your personal contact details including Emergency Contacts (because who thinks of that!) on MyPay. Calling for news from Pinelodge and Frankston It’s important that our newsletters capture news and events from all our South East Melbourne hospitals. We would like to invite caregivers from all hospitals- particularly Frankston and Pinelodge- to submit ideas, stories, photos and feedback to share. Anzac Day on the Medical Ward Anzac Day is fast approaching and Berwick nurse Nerinda Mazzerella has set up a meaningful display on 2 east, Medical. The display is a tribute to her family, as well as Australians who have served over the years.

Orthopaedics advertising campaign You may notice that SJGHC is currently running an Orthopaedics campaign advertising our services. Stay on the PULSE of your workplace What on earth is Pulse? Put simply, Pulse is SJGHC’s caregiver app and it is the best resource you have to keep on top of everything to do with your workplace. If you’re not on it, you’re missing out! It’s super easy to upload and use and, we promise, you’ll find it very handy. Not only can you see photos, read articles and watch videos at your own convenience on your own device, but you can comment, post and share with your colleagues too. Just like Facebook. When you upload the app, there are some channels you’ll want definitely want to follow: -SEM Hospitals -Your specific hospital (Berwick, Frankston, Pinelodge) We can even set up private channels for your specific team/department and this can be an easy, safe space to share local level communications privately with your team. Newly appointed Bishop of Sale Diocese tours Berwick Hospital

Who is our New Bishop? (Source: www.cdsale.org.au) Bishop-elect Gregory Charles Bennet is the tenth Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sale. He comes to us from the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. Bishop-elect Bennet was born in 1963 and educated at St Dominic’s Primary School, East Camberwell, All Hallows Primary School Balwyn and Marcellin College Bulleen, before completing his secondary education at the ecumenical Braemar College at Woodend. He then joined the Commercial Bank of Australia whilst undertaking studies in Public Administration. In 1986 he began his seminary training and was ordained a priest for the Melbourne Archdiocese in 1992, ministering in several parishes. He continued his studies overseas graduating as a Master of Science in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Maryland, USA before obtaining a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

On his return from Rome, Fr Bennet was appointed Director of the Ministry to Priests and Director of Ongoing Formation for Clergy for the Archdiocese of Melbourne. In 2005 he became the inaugural Director of the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation and also commenced as Parish Priest of St Bede’s Balwyn North. In 2012 Archbishop Hart appointed him Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, the same year that Fr Bennet was awarded the distinction of being appointed as a Prelate of Honour of His Holiness by Pope Benedict XVI. In March 2020 he was appointed by Archbishop Peter Comensoli as Parish Priest of St Joseph’s West Brunswick. Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Bennet as tenth Bishop of Sale on 27 June 2020, the Feast Day of the Patroness of the Diocese, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, in succession to Bishop Patrick O’Regan now Archbishop of Adelaide.
