Pinelodge Clinic using social media to support the community during Mental Health Month Yesterday Jess Laurito, Nurse Unit Manager and Dr David Young, Clinical Psychologist and Therapy Manager hosted the very first Facebook Live event for, not only Pinelodge Clinic, but South East Melbourne hospitals. Over 100 people tuned in during the live hourlong discussion which saw the dynamic duo offer advice on heading back to work, school and for re-connecting with loved ones as Melbourne’s Covid-19 restrictions lift. It was suggested that taking baby steps and easing back into social settings would be a good idea and to take a return to life outside the home gently. Moving forward we will offer more of these community events online as a marketing exercise but also as a way of offering support to our community when it is in need. Thank you to Jess and David for your willingness to participate and for offering your expertise and to Nathan Culpitt (marketing) for leading on the project. Great job!
Footy Day across SEM It’s been a bright and colourful day with many caregivers getting into the spirit in preparation for the long weekend and Saturday’s big game.
Pinelodge Clinic’s Emily Taylor and Andrew Somerville participated in Ride To Work Day last week- each riding 17km to and from work!

Art at Langmore The photos are showing examples of some of the creative work that was produced by staff and residents during their time in the Langmore Centre. These works were on display around the centre and certainly helped to brighten up the building. The butterflies were added to the staff heart wall outside the chapel in the main hospital as a reminder that though staff were working at different sites we were still working together. I spent some time with a resident who was in her early 90s and who wanted to learn how to paint. We did some painting together and she said that when she got home again she was going to get out the paints she had been given and continue painting as she had enjoyed the activity, and was thankful for the opportunity to learn some new things.
