MCCABES
We have SIX VERY
DIFFERENT SONS who all found
their niche at the Prep. All six of them thrived here; they were ready for college, they are gentlemen, they are men for others. We really do attribute a lot of that to their time at the Prep.

MY MOTHER LOVED THE PREP. For years, any success that I had— my marriage, my children, my career—was attributed to the Prep. It became a running joke and I used to say, you know I may have done okay even without the Prep. As a parent though, I get it now. It’s that something where the Prep develops you to be so confident in who you are in a way that I just haven’t found anywhere else.

LAURA
SCHEUERLE We have four boys and my husband went to a different all-boys private school. When it was time to make a decision, we looked at the Prep as well as our local
public school, a co-ed private school and Craig’s alma mater. We were interested in a Jesuit education and having him get out of his box, but our son was sold by the diversity of kids here and the sense of community that he felt right away. HE ACTUALLY TALKED US INTO IT.

FOR OUR FAMILY, CHOOSING THE PREP WASN’T JUST ABOUT A FOUR-YEAR PLAN BUT THE 40-YEAR PLAN. We understood that the landscape here in Philadelphia professionally and the type of influence and support the Prep community has post-graduation was hard to pass up. A Prep education goes beyond the classroom to the people that he meets. We can’t think of any other environment that would have given him those opportunities.

CONEY
IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL INVESTMENT. My boys speak well, they write well and when they went to college, they had no problem. I look at my boys and think, ‘wow, this is what I paid for.’ I know my boys are going to go places, that they have aspirations, and I give credit to the Prep for that.

VELAZQUEZ TO SEE MY SON GROW LIKE HE HAS AMAZES ME. To realize
that’s my boy and he’s going to be a wonderful man because of where he comes from, where he’s been for four years and where he’s going. That’s what I am looking forward to and I can’t wait for my other son to be there too; I will do whatever it takes to have them at the Prep.

THEY RAISE THE BAR AT THE PREP AND THEY EXPECT THE KIDS TO MEET IT. And when you expect a kid to achieve, he will. I see it happening over and over again. Some people are afraid of setting a kid up for failure, but at the Prep they raise the bar again and again, and with the support of faculty, staff and their classmates, I see the kids meet it.
