ARTIZO UPDATE FROM DAVID SHORT Dear Friends, It is a delight to announce the appointment of Reverend Ben Roberts as the new Director of Training for the Artizo Institute. Artizo is an initiative to raise up and train young men and women who have gifts for ministry, and we have had the great privilege of having many Artizo Interns at St. John’s who have gone on to ministry elsewhere. It is an immersion, apprenticeship programme where young people learn ministry by doing ministry in the congregation. The focus of the training is the communication of God’s word with integrity, passion, and clarity. Ben is an Artizo alumnus himself, one of the first to be ordained priest in ANiC (the Anglican Network in Canada). He is a teacher and trainer who well understands ministry, as he has worked for six years with Sean Love at St. John’s Richmond. He is very well known in ANiC and ACNA (the Anglican Church in North America), chairing a couple of ongoing active committees. He will be an invaluable addition to St. John’s Vancouver in the role of Artizo Director of Training and is very well placed to bring depth and clarity to the Artizo training program. Ben will start in this position on August 6 and we will welcome Ben and Karyn and their three children, Adelaide, Ambrose, and Olive in October. Ben will be on staff at St. John’s Vancouver and will be responsible for training Artizo interns. Please pray for Ben and Karyn in this transition and for the work of Artizo which is seeking to raise up workers for the harvest.
