HELPING POINT | MISSIONS TRIP Do you like curry? Are you up for an adventure? Do you have a desire to see and participate in God’s work in another part of the world? Read on… The deadline for applications for the 2018 Helping Point Missions trip has been extended to Aug. 5th, 2018. The exact dates of this trip will be determined by the team once formed. Team participants will have the opportunity to work to their strengths as a group. Activities may include visiting various projects, attending church services, playing games and teaching songs to the children, encouraging staff members, teaching sessions in the school, etc. If you would like an application to join the team please send an email to team@sjvan.org. PARISH RETREAT SPEAKER // REVEREND CHRIS LEY We are excited to announce that the speaker for our fourth annual Parish Retreat will be Rev. Chris Ley. Chris serves as the Assistant Priest at St. Matthias and St. Luke’s Church in Vancouver. He joined them in 2015 as a curate and now oversees the English Ministries. Chris completed his Master of Divinity at Regent College, as well as an internship with Artizo. He is married to Melissa and has two children, Hudson and Julia. A life-long Vancouverite, Chris is passionate about the outdoors, even in the rain, and seeing his city come to know the love and goodness of God shown in His Son Jesus. Chris grew up at St. John’s Vancouver, where he grew in the grip of God’s gospel. He will be sharing with us about following Jesus in a world that doesn’t through the book of 2 Peter. Jeremy Graham and his team will be providing a children’s program while the adults are in sessions with Chris. We hope you will join us at Stillwood Camp on Cultus Lake.
