Barnard Griffin Winery is situated in south-central Washington at the confluence of the Yakima, Columbia and Snake rivers, in the heart of Washington State’s wine country. Stop by the winery and visit our tasting room as well as our wine bar and eatery in Richland, Washington, to sample our award-winning wines or visit us online, www. barnardgriffin.com.

Barrage Cellars owner/winemaker; Kevin Correll, makes wine in the true “Garagiste” fashion, focusing on 100% varietals from the finest vineyards and regions of Washington State, along with some of the finest French barrels (and a few American). Kevin is not against blending grapes of different varietals but prefers to showcase the elegance and nuances of single varietals. Located in the Woodinville Warehouse District and open just 5-½ years, Kevin is really making a name for himself and has collected multiple awards/points from both local and national competitions including; Seattle Wine Awards, Sunset Magazine, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, among others.

AntoLin Cellars offers a boutique collection of expressive and note-worthy wines that are equally appealing in value.

The Bunnell Family Cellar specializes in small, handmade lots of wine from a number of traditional Rhône Valley grape varieties including Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Counoise and Viognier. They produce both single vineyard varietals, “vins de l’endroit,” and also unique blends, “vins de l’esprit,” that celebrate traditions of the Southern Rhône Valley. The Bunnell Family Cellar’s newest introduction “BDX,” houses their Malbec, Petit Verdot and their Bordeaux Blend, Petit Bec.

Established in 2001, Cougar Crest Estate Winery is located in the Walla Walla Valley of Washington State, recognized as a premier place to grow grapes in Washington. Cougar Crest operates three vineyards. Cougar Hills Vineyard is located a stone’s throw from the site of the original Seven Hills Vineyard planted 28 years ago that began the Walla Walla legacy of quality vineyards. Golden’s Legacy is named for the medical doctor who originally lived on the land. Eighty-five years ago, he built the home that the Cougar Crest Winery owners live in today, and planted white wine grapes. Rock Bottom, next to Cougar Hills Vineyard, shares many of the same soil and weather similarities as Cougar Hills Vineyard.

In 2009, Tony and Linda Haralson turned their dreams of owning and operating a winery into a reality after developing their estate vineyard. Riesling, Carmenere, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown on the 5-acre estate vineyard, Glacier. Kitzke Cellars

Martinez & Martinez Winery

Richland

Prosser

Agriculture takes the Kitzke Family back to the 1970s. Over the years, the orchards have turned to vineyards and farming gave way to winemaking. At Kitzke Cellars we focus on being there every step with the vineyard and helping elevate each vine to its full potential. Winemaking starts in the vineyard and it is our goal to express the terroir we are given while bringing out the finest quality grapes possible. From there we work with 2013 Washington Winemaker of the year, Charlie Hoppes, to bring out the characteristics desired in our wines. Balancing our tannin levels with our terroir on Candy Mountain, we make an approachable yet age worthy wine. Our tasting room sits on our vineyard and homesite while overlooking the Tri-Cities. Tero Estates Walla Walla

Tero Estates sits in the middle of the oldest commercially planted vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley AVA, Windrow Vineyard near Milton-Freewater, Oregon. All estate fruit is hand-harvested and immediately delivered to the crush pad at the top of the hill, where it is gently destemmed, sorted and placed into fermentation bins. A slow, hands on approached is used through all steps of the winemaking process. This extra aging time allows the tannins and acidity to better integrate. This also brings the nuanced subtleties of a wine to the forefront, something that younger vintage wines aren’t able to demonstrate. With bottle age the explosion of fruit calms down and perfumes, florals, spices and leathers come through, creating a wine that is much more diverse, elegant and a pleasure to drink. At Tero Estates, it is our goal to produce small lots of estate wines that reflect the ultimate expression of Windrow Vineyard. Reviving and improving this historic property allows us to follow our passion for creating treasured wines while showing respect for the vines and the people who tend them.

Walla Walla Vintners is one of Washington State’s most revered wineries, started by pioneering winemakers Myles Anderson and Gordy Venneri. One of the state’s first wineries, Walla Walla Vintners continues their limited production of award-winning red wines, widely regarded as consistently high quality at prices below many of their peers. The winery, in the shadow of the Blue Mountains, is one of the most picturesque in the state. It reflects Gordy, Myles and their tight knit team’s commitment to sustainable winemaking, environmental values and a love of the beautiful place they live. Since the beginning their focus remains squarely on their customers – treating them as friends who are always welcome at the winery.

Langley

Whidbey Island Winery pioneered grape growing and winemaking on Whidbey more than 25 years ago and remains the island’s leading producer. In addition to lively estate grown whites they produce an ever-growing number of the latest and greatest varietals from exceptional vineyards in eastern Washington, with a special affinity for Italian varieties. Their winemaking philosophy is simple - emphasize elegance, balance and the best expression of what the grape has to offer, all at an outstanding value. Woodhouse Wine Estates

Woodinville

Woodinville

William Church Winery was established in 2005 and is located in northern Woodinville, along with a host of other wineries. Better known as the “Warehouse Winery District,” this is where many of Woodinville’s newest, most exciting wineries can be found. The winery also has a tasting room in the Hollywood Schoolhouse District that is open every day during the summer months and most days the rest of the year. The inspiration for William Church Winery came about to honor and acknowledge the legacy of our families on both sides. We are dedicated to making wine that is inviting and approachable, that is great with food but can stand alone, and perhaps most important, contains the complexity and structure found in truly great wine. The rose window design from French Gothic architecture signifies the beauty, completeness, and balance we strive to achieve. We currently produce 2,800 cases of nine different wines at our winery in Woodinville. We hope you will join us at our casual and fun tasting room where the goal is to gather and talk and where kids and dogs are always welcome.

The Woodhouse Wine Estates is a boutique Woodinville winery passionate about crafting high-quality, complex and age-worthy wines. We craft wines that are terroir-driven with luscious, complex fruit. We focus on balance and restraint, so our wines age very well. Varietally correct with old world sensibility, our wines are released a bit later than most so that they have an opportunity to rest, integrate and show their fullest flavor complexities. Owners, and husband and wife team, Bijal and Sinead Shah, started Woodhouse Wine Estates with Bijal’s uncle, Tom Campbell, in 2004. Joining a group of other winery greats in Woodinville, Woodhouse quickly drew attention with our beautifully crafted wines. Our flagship wine, Darighe, which means “red” in Gaelic, was so named after Sinead’s Irish roots. Next, we introduced Dussek and Maghee, named after family friends. Finally we created Kennedy Shah and Hudson Shah, named after their daughter and son.

On your next visit ... • Shop at the many vintage and antique stores in town. Anacortes has become a destination for visitors looking for rare finds, treasures and repurposed items from days gone by. • Book a whale-watching trip. Boat tours, about six hours, leave from Anacortes. The main season runs generally from mid-April to October. You can find out about all of the local whale watching tours at the Anacortes Visitor Center at 819 Commercial Avenue. You’ll almost always see orcas or humpback whales on your trip (check the guarantees), and there’s plenty of splendid scenery and other wildlife to view as the large boats cruise calm waters around nearby islands. • Get a scenic introduction to kayaking at Deception Pass State Park. Kayak rentals through Anacortes Kayak Tours are available seasonally at Bowman Bay and a guide can take the whole family on a short trip. Anacortes Kayak Tours also offers half day, full-day and multi-day sea kayak tours through the San Juan Islands.

Save the Date! • Help us celebrate our marine heritage at the Anacortes Waterfront Festival, June 4-5. This family-friendly event features a car show, children’s area, free boat rides, vendors, food, entertainment and more. • Look for treasure July 16 at the Shipwreck Festival. This event started 35 years ago when commercial fishermen sold their used gear as yard art. Today it’s a massive community garage sale with flea and antique vendors as well. • Plan to attend the Anacortes Arts Festival, August 5-7. Enjoy fine art, crafts, music and art demonstrations. • The beer flows at the Anacortes Bier on the Pier Festival with 30 breweries, 10 cideries and live music October 7-8.

O

ur festival this year is dedicated to Jim Gordon,

our long-time winery liaison and Anacortes Chamber executive board member at large. Jim spent countless hours helping to make this festival possible and ensure that each winery had everything they needed during the event. Jim was easy to recognize with his tall stature, warm smile, bright Hawaiian shirt and straw hat. Sadly, Jim passed away this past year, but we are keeping his spirit alive as we celebrate the festival he so adored.
