nique to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, each year a committee of community volunteers selects a local artist to create an official poster. The artist is announced in November at the official poster unveiling celebration at Skagit Valley Gardens. Sponsored by Heritage Bank, the event is the first opportunity to see the new poster and products for the upcoming Tulip Festival. Local artists submit their applications and the winner is free to choose their medium and style in a way that will interpret their vision of the festival and the tulips of Skagit Valley. Congratulations to Jennifer McGill, who was selected as this year’s artist. Jennifer has been a professional artist for over 30 years. She has an illustration and design background and studied art at The Art Institute of Chicago & The American Academy of Art. McGill has received numerous prestigious art and design awards, and has won a range of art competitions. Her work is worldwide with collectors, products and installations. Jennifer’s career includes working as a Designer and Illustrator for MEET THE ARTIST: Enesco, Bunnies By The Bay, and Dillon Works.
