Microlog® MX series Conformance check module

The conformance check module is designed for use with the MX series, part of the Micro log family of products. The conformance check functionality transforms the MX into a powerful, yet easy to use tool for everyday inspection and maintenance routines. By following simple on-screen instruc tions an automated vibration assessment indicates the quality and/or health of your pump, motor or rotating mechanical device. Vibration levels are automatically com pared with pre-defined limits and a pass or fail indication is displayed. This instant assessment enables you to quickly deter mine if your machinery is operating within its specified limits. The conformance check also allows your quality and installation personnel to check that the product complies with your predefined quality indicators and ensures that your finished product meets the required standards, both at final assembly and after initial installation.

User definable Machinery conformance may be determined in accordance with existing industry stand ards, for example ISO, API, Bureau Veritas or alternatively by setting bespoke limits. The MX allows users to create test tem plates to measure variables in line with these standards, or to develop their own templates. Therefore the conformance check module gives you maximum flexibility and the ability to customize. Users can define pass/fail levels and create individual parameters for specific machinery as required. Custom conformance criteria can be quickly and easily created by changing any of the current test templates available from SKF or by making your own from scratch, as appropriate.

Key features • General machine health check using vibration measurements assessed in

accordance with industrial standards – can be used by non-vibration experts. • Automated and easy to understand oper ator feedback – actual values and grading, and a pass/fail indication. • Library of pre-defined test templates available – no specialist setup required. • Define your own pass/fail levels via the easy to use PC application provided – create your own machine assessment criteria. • On-screen display of actual machinery and transducer measurement positions – provides guidance to reduce invalid data collection. • Transfer data to spreadsheet packages such as Excel® or import into the Analysis and reporting module.

Conformance check specifications Measurement parameters:

1 – 24 bands (each band can measure acceleration/velocity/displacement)

Severity ratings:

1 – 8 grades

Input signal range:

± 40 V max

Signal scaling:

RMS, peak, peak to peak

Data analysis In addition to displaying a simple colour cod ed grading of machinery health, measure ment data can also be selectively recorded and stored in the MX as required. A report table detailing results can be printed directly from the MX, giving you the capability to quickly get a full size hard copy print out either in the field or upon return to base. All recorded data can be transferred to the desktop PC environment using Active Sync™, enabling test results to be uploaded into Excel® or the Analysis and reporting module for more detailed analysis and pres entation of results. Other spreadsheet pack ages are also supported, e.g. Lotus 123™. Using the analyser module, recorded data can also be displayed as an on-screen spec trum.

Conformance check – standards library A series of pre-defined test templates are available. These set the parameters for taking measurements in accordance with defined standards. The templates can be loaded into the MX, automatically setting up your pass/fail limits and making sure your machinery is tested and meets the correct requirements. Each module can also be used to form the basis of your own “custom” standard. Limits can be easily altered as required using a simple PC application included with the conformance check module. Test templates are available in accordance with the following international standards:
