One thing I am very particular about is getting enough rest. My alarm goes off at 5:30am, then I do my morning devotion. As I carry out my morning routine, I listen to podcasts. When I get to work, I list the top three things that need to be done during my work day. When I get home, I bond with my son, we have dinner together and I'm in bed by 22 latest.
I attended DMI St. Eugene university, where I double majored in investment finance and marketing, then enrolled in the student exchange program at St. Joseph University in India. I then pursued my Masters in International Business at Greenwich University.
I chose this job because it spoke to what I dream of achieving: the impact my role allows me to have on people's lives. This role allowed me to fit into my passion, and my vision aligned with the company's. I believe in blooming where you're planted; I choose that whatever job I have at that moment is my dream job.
I value experience over education because goals are overrated, and execution is undervalued. It's not so much what you learn, but can you execute it? Young people need to understand that greatness is inside of them!
As a sales-orientated role, anyone looking to join this field of work must be enthusiastic and passionate about selling, be a good communicator, a confident speaker, and analytical.
I would say my keys to success have been consistency and brand image. It's always good to see what you want to achieve early. Your goals will evolve and grow as you change, but know what you want out of the space you're in. After that, look for people you can be friends with in that space. and follow their socials. Pay attention what career decisions they’ve made, and how you can draw inspiration from them.
My greatest strength is my ability to execute plans, achieve set goals, make complex financial concepts, and simplify them. My biggest weakness is that I’m impatient.
Mukwandi Chibesakunda, CEO of Zanaco is my inspiration. Her soft, kind, and highly professional nature ignited my ambition. She became someone I wanted to mold myself into.
To any girls planning on taking a similar career path I would encourage you to do well academically, in sports, and in community work. Create valuable relationships with teachers and community leaders for good references. Research about the industry and look for possible internships in the industry.
