COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING As work begins on the new Fairgrounds exposition facilities, rock excavation activities, including controlled blasting, are scheduled to begin Thursday, December 13, and will continue for approximately six (6) weeks.
COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING The goal is to make this process as unobtrusive as possible, and every attempt will be made to schedule blasting during weekday hours when people are less likely to be home
COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING Property Surveys: •
Residents in the notification area (within 300 ft of rock excavation activities) are being contacted for a pre-activity home survey.

A representative from the project team will knock on doors and ask to document home structural conditions prior to work commencing.
•
Surveys are scheduled to wrap up December 10.

COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING Timing: Controlled blasting will occur on business days during daylight hours. Times will vary from day to day; however, the most common times will be the following: • 9:00 am • 11:00 am • 1:00 pm • 3:00 pm
COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING Signals and Notifications: • Warning signal: Five (5) minutes prior to the blast, a series of three (3) long audible signals • Blast signal: One (1) minute prior to the blast, a series of three (3) short audible signals • All-clear signal: Following inspection of the blast area, a prolonged audible signal
