MOTIVATION LETTER Dear Slemsians With great pleasure, I declare my intention to serve as the next Vice President of SLEMSA. My name is Emmanuel Chukwunonso Egwuonwu, a 5th year medical student. As a member of the Team of officials of this current administration, I have learned a great deal about innovativeness, inclusiveness, and purposeful leadership. These lessons are the inspiration and bedrock of my mission.if we see education as one of the most powerful key human nature has, I would say none formal education can do magic. As the current standing committee director for SCORA, I have been able to push SLEMSA- SCORA to a different level. When I took charge of the standing committee months ago SCORA was almost an inactive standing committee, the only thing handed over to me was a password of our Instagram page and the official Email of the NORA which was not even subscribed to the Official SCORA server, Our Social media handles were inactive. My first step as the NORA was to bring our social media handles alive by updating the Instagram page and creating a Facebook page for the standing committee. And in few months I can proudly say that SCORA has the most active social media handles in SLEMSA with more than 50 posts and a Facebook page with more than 500 followers. By introducing new activities in the standings committee, one of our works was published in the IFMSA menstrual hygiene scrapbook ‘the first of its kind', SLEMSA- SCORA was one of the 4 NMOs from Africa whose work was published. Am also working on a Manual for SLEMSA – SCORA, this would be the first of its kind in SLEMSA. Looking at all I have achieve as a standing committee director, I wish to implement such growth in each of the 6 SCs in SLEMSA we all know that SCs are the pillars of the association. Serving as the vice president of SLEMSA gives me the flexibility to contribute to the growth of the Association one thing I promise Slemsians is, you will see new activities; things that would make you boldly boost of being a Slemsian. I have interacted with Medical Students and heard the many questions on their lips, Honestly, I would be a liar to say I have answers to every one of those questions. But one thing is sure, I will work hand in hand together with the executive board to find these answers, no one would be left behind. This is my assurance. Increased mobilization and grassroots mobilization remains at the core of my mission. Today, I come before you, craving your indulgence and asking you to believe in my mission and plan for SLEMSA, a vision of Unending possibilities, this movement cannot be about me. It must be about what we can do together. this movement can be the vehicle of our hopes and dreams for our beloved association. Loyalty is the currency of politics and my loyalty is unwavering to the association, her constitution, her people, and her leadership structure. So let us begin this hard work together, trusting that God shall crown all our efforts with resounding success. God Bless the Sierra Leone Medical Students Association.

Plan of Action Social entrepreneurship
Be creative: go out of the box
Capacity building comes with a price. Participation fees, travel costs and many times in addition immense costs for a whole VISA application process. Furthermore let's not forget the financial burden of SLEMSA and the standing committees. In SLEMSA we gather a huge amount of inspiring, talented, and especially knowledgeable personalities. Knowledge that might seem obvious for us. But it is not for many people, organizations and companies outside. Why shouldn't we go with new and modern approaches such as social Entrepreneurship? Let me give two concrete Examples:
Offering workshops to external groups such as companies for a small participation fee. Offer basic medical checkups to different groups and companies for a little fee.
The collected money could then be used to support capacity building in the association.
Donation platform Social entrepreneurship
Donation platform
We face financial barriers in SLEMSA. they limit representation, participation possibilities for members and might even prevent great projects from happening. Creating an easy point of contact with potential sponsors might be the first step to overcome this challenge. Establishing a scout movement platform, which would be based on crowdfunding. This platform will enable SLEMSA to easily fundraise for their events. But I would like to take it one step further. Why shouldn't we merge our efforts and offer an easy and centralized platform for SLEMSA to collect financial support?
Projects and programs can fundraise: By introducing new activities like road trips, Exhibitions, Picnics, Factory tours, Movie nights, carnivals, visit a historical site, games night.
