MOTIVATION LETTER Dear SELMSA Family Dearest SCORAngels, I am grateful to have the opportunity to present to you my candidature for the position of National Officer on Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) including HIV/AIDS for the term 2021-2022 . I have been actively involved in the activities of the association and worked with two different Standing Committees; but the one that gives me a voice and a reason to fight back is SCORA. When I first joined SCORA; two years ago, as a general member, all I cared about was helping the community and fellow SCORAngels in what I have always felt very passionate about, which is education, empowerment, and advocacy for what is fair and right on SRHR issues. But having said that, I come from a much simpler background and have a clear and simple roadmap, I believe I can make a true change in SCORA by upholding the values upon which the standing committee exist and implement our activities based on our global mandate in a local context. We can work together to achieve this milestone and it will not be limited to our activities, but also our mentality when it comes to SRHR issues. I want to draw new horizons which will inspire people to think beyond our community taboos and norms. With your support we can make SLEMSA-SCORA the face of SRHR issues nationally and globally. My name is Salmadu Satta Gbanyawai, a fifth-year medical student, and the current General Assistant for SCORA. I am a tireless dreamer and a full-time advocate for Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR). I’m passionate about working in SLEMSASCORA, searching for more tolerant souls and it will be a great opportunity to share with you my ideas that can make SCORA the most outstanding standing committee for the upcoming term. I want to be your NORA so that we can join hands and fight for multiple causes; but always together. If we fight alone, we can probably get to our destination faster, but together we will reach further. This is a challenge I’m accepting by presenting to you, my candidature. I know I can count on all of SLEMSians to get that step higher. I am ready to serve our beloved association. Thank you for taking your time to read my candidature.

Sincerely Yours Salmadu Satta Gbanyawai

PLAN OF ACTION MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT Members of our standing committee are valuable assets and the need to include them in decision making can’t be over emphasized, not because it is a way for us to organize ourselves better, but it is a means that include everyone’s opinion in the process. For this upcoming term I want members to have a voice in our various activities and projects and with this everyone can contribute in a democratic way and as SCORAngles we can have a successful term altogether.

ANNUAL WORKING PLAN The Annual Work Plan will be our guiding tool throughout the term, embedded with goals that we can identify and work towards, so that we can strive to achieve them as a standing committee. Long and short-term goals will be included and shared with angels at the start of the term and a call for input and suggestions will be made. Ensuring engagement of members is a must!
