Design Project 3 Artist Studio PROJECT SUMMARY

In this project the we are expected to design a small free – standing building which is a studio bedsitter for a creative artist at a selected site. And the building only be allowed a covered floor area of 50sqm.

Objective of this design project is to understand the user and design for a specific user, providing architecture that would reflect his/her character while facilitating the best atmosphere and rwquired space to perform the art form.

The artist that I selected for my project is a musician and the site is in Malambe. I made an appointment with my client and discussed about their requirements, preferences, nature of activities he want to do in studio. After analysing his character and working habits I came up with the concept of ‘ Poem of the Night Sky ‘ and designed the Music Studio with Bedsitter which architecturally be like express in terms of its form and its special experience and qualities to represent my cliient and to provide the best atmosphere for the musical activities.
