Martin Creaner, TMForum’s CEO, delivered a keynote presentation on “Rethinking Communications – The Service Provider Challenge” An incredible panel discussion covering a review of the history of revenue assurance and fraud management (and what we now call business assurance) with our chairman Tony Poulos, Andrew Doyle, from Telepo AB, Eric Priezkhalns from “TalkRA.com” and Simon Collins from Praesidium.
Like all WeDo Technologies’ Worldwide User Group events, the most important content was presented by our customers - 19 different presentations were led by our customers! The main goal is the knowledge sharing and networking opportunities between telecom experts in an open environment so this will continue to be the main highlight of the agenda.

In 2012, the 7th edition of WeDo Technologies’ Worldwide User Group Conference was held in Óbidos, Portugal, gathering 195 people from more than 30 countries. 47 Telecom Operators were represented.
Objectives
This User Group Meeting was created with the aim of strengthening and promoting a community of users around revenue assurance, fraud management and the remaining disciplines that are part of the Business Assurance concept.
This annual event creates an excellent opportunity to meet, network, discuss, share knowledge and experiences with your peers and also to get more out of WeDo Technologies products, services and teams.

Chairmain of the event Tony Poulos Tony Poulos has been involved with software development and systems integration in travel and telecommunications for over 20 years. He has become an international authority on telecoms Business Support Systems and is the market strategist at the TM Forum. In addition to being a regular speaker and chairman at Telco and finance conferences worldwide, he is a Contributing Analyst for IDC, writes a number of industry publications worldwide and is Anchor for the Telecom Channel. In 2011, Tony was recognized as one of the 25 most influential people in the telecom software industry. The rankings, determined by an independent panel of editors at the publication Billing and OSS World, highlight the industry leaders and visionaries that have had a significant effect on the direction and development of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS).

Cláudia Azevedo is CEO of Sonaecom Software and Systems Integration.
Rui Paiva is WeDo Technologies’ CEO. Rui founded WeDo Technologies in 2001 and has led the company as CEO since the company’s inception, driving its successful expansion over the years. Rui served as Professional Services Director at HP and held senior IT management roles at Optimus and Vodafone Portugal. Rui holds a degree in Applied Mathematics and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration and Computer Management, both from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

João manages a team of more than 90 people covering all the key aspects of product development including architecture, product management, professional services, support, quality and testing. João joined WeDo Technologies in 2001, as Senior Manager, to head up one of its local offices, in Braga, Portugal. João previously held project management roles in AMS - American Management Systems. João has a degree in Engineering and a masters in Industrial Information Technology from Oporto University. He also has an MBA from INSEAD.

In 2011, Tony Poulos was recognized as one of the 25 most influential people in the telecom software industry. The rankings, determined by an independent panel of editors at the publication Billing and OSS World, highlight the industry leaders and visionaries that have had a significant effect on the direction and development of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS).
A successful senior executive in the IT and Telecommunications industry with 25 years experience in global/international business execution. Interested in early-stage start-ups as well as midstage companies. Experience includes assignments based in Asia and mainland Europe, for both established global organisations and for start-up ventures. A proven track record of delivering divisional and company profitability and increasing shareholder value through the development of customer strategies and sales and marketing organisations, organisational restructuring and company and technology acquisition. Direct experience of working with venture capitalist in early and midstage companies. M&A and joint venture experience with successful integration of target organisations.
Eric Priezkalns is one of the editors and founders of talkRA.com. He is Director of Enterprise Risk Management at Qatar Telecom, and has over ten years of telecommunications industry experience in risk management and revenue assurance. Eric has previously worked as Head of Controls for Cable & Wireless Group, Best Practice Manager for Revenue Assurance, Billing and Carrier Services for T‑Mobile UK and Billing Integrity Manager for Worldcom UK. Eric first worked as a consultant in the Enterprise Risk Services division of Deloitte, where he also qualified as a chartered accountant. Eric is very well known in international revenue assurance circles through his blogging and his contribution to the collaborative work of the TM Forum’s Revenue Assurance Team. In the UK, Eric is best known for his detailed critique of billing accuracy regulations.

Martin Creaner is President and CEO of the TM Forum, a global, non-profit industry association focused on enabling service provider agility and innovation. As an established thought-leader in service creation, management and delivery, the Forum serves as a unifying force across industries, enabling more than 900 member companies to solve critical business issues through access to a wealth of knowledge, intellectual capital and standards. Martin is widely published and is featured and quoted regularly in business and trade journals. In the past year, Martin has been named among the Top 25 most influential people in Telecom software by Billing World; and the Telecoms Power 100 by Global Telecoms Business. Martin is also the author of the leading OSS/BSS book “NGOSS Distilled”, and the leading Telecoms Transformation book “Frameworx Distilled”.
Maxim Medvedovsky Independent Guest Speaker | “Next Generation BPO: Are You Ready?”
Maxim Medvedovsky currently works as a consultant in telecommunications’ industry and he also serves as an executive officer for Oi. Until January 2012, he was a member of the board of directors for Telemar Norte Leste and alternate Member of the board of directors for Brasil Telecom. He had various leading positions in the company, Head of B2C business unit, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Director of shared services center, Director of relations with service providers and Director of interconnection and roaming. He started at Telemar in September 1998 as corporate planning manager. Mr. Medvedovsky worked on the privatization process of the Telebras System at Banco Patrimonio/Salomon Brothers, and was responsible for the appraisal of TNE. He also previously served as telecommunications analyst at Banco Patrimonio in 1998 and as telecommunications analyst and fund manager of Banco Icatu from 1994 to 1998. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from PUC - Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from FDC and FGV.

Aleksandr Evstafyev started his career, in 1996, as an engineer in Ericsson. Three years later he moved to Holland, where he continue to work for Ericsson and Worldcom for Global Support offices. At the same time got a MBA degree in Brussels University and then was relocated to Frankfurt am Main where he became the Head of European Support Office of France Telecom. In 2003, he came back to Russia where he was invited to Vimpelcom in order to develop Fraud Management functions within Russian regions and CIS countries.

Francis Fernandes has served the telecommunications industry in various capacities ranging from senior positions in Internal Audit field to being CFO of Thuraya Satelliite Telecommunications with in depth experience of over 25 years. He has also worked in Revenue Assurance field in Canada at Sprint Canada and Rogers Telecom. Francis is currently working as Group Vice President Policies and Compliance and Head of Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management at Etisalat Group based in United Arab Emirates. Etisalat Group has operations in eighteen countries mainly in the Middle East, Asia and Africa with combined Revenue of around US$ 10 Billion.
