LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION SLUH’s 32-acre campus is situated in Forest Park South in the city of St. Louis. It allows us to cultivate relationships and offer opportunities in many unique ways:
• Forest Park provides our teams with a glorious backyard in which to play and practice. • Internships and career interests are right around the corner at Washington University Medical Center, Saint Louis University and various midtown corporations. • Our central location allows students to provide service assistance at more than 80 project sites in the metropolitan area. • Students easily access the Saint Louis Art Museum, Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri History Museum and the Saint Louis Science Center in classwork or club activities.

JAMES GUTH COSTIGAN ‘62 INNOVATION LAB SLUH’s 5,200 square foot Innovation Lab features a space for interdepartmental collaboration, academic departments, student clubs, and independent student projects in a central workshop, computer/planning area, woodworking shop, group meeting area, Robotics/STEM Club room, and a flex classroom. With out-of-the-box projects, well-beyond how most schools utilize these spaces, SLUH’s iLab has enabled our school community to bring learning alive across all curriculums (i.e., signet rings for Latin I, a marimba percussion instrument for an independent student project, COVID PPEs for front-line workers, & much more).

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES A team of school counselors, college counselors and learning consultants support the academic and emotional well-being of each student and provide personal guidance in developing study habits, forming good technology use, creating course schedules, examining career choices and choosing a college or university.
SLUH students are offered three distinct areas of support: • School Counselors are the first point of contact for a Jr. Billiken and assist parents/ students with their transition to SLUH. They also promote and support students’ success and wellness over their 4 years. • College Counselors help students and parents with the planning, discernment and application process while developing relationships with colleges and universities. •O ur comprehensive Learning Center provides students with learning and study skills that promote success in their four years. Learning coaches work one-on-one with students, and when needed, coordinate with faculty how best to assist the student.

FIND GOD IN ALL THINGS Every afternoon, silence fills the entire school for two minutes. It’s a special moment dedicated to the Examen of Consciousness, a self-examination inspired by St. Ignatius. Then, each day for closing prayer, the hallways and classrooms echo with the sound of our Jr. Bills dedicating all of their thoughts, words and actions “To the Greater Glory of God.” Prayer and reflection are just two ways Campus Ministry further develop faith, spirituality and a sense of social justice in our students. Through a comprehensive program of liturgy, prayer, retreats and service, we form Men for and with Others while fostering the love of God, others and self.
FAITH IN ACTION SLUH students serve communities at over 80 different sites throughout the city of St. Louis, neighboring states, and globally. Our students are guided along a four-year service model with three years of foundation to propel students into their Senior Service Project. These experiences help SLUH students strive to live our motto of being “Men for Others.”

BE PART OF THE TEAM! SLUH’s strong athletic tradition continues today with teams in 19 interscholastic sports programs. A founding member of the Metro Catholic Conference (MCC), SLUH has routinely captured the MCC All-Sports Trophy, awarded to the member school with the best varsity conference finish in all sports.
In the past 10 years, SLUH’s teams have had success at all levels. DISTRICT District tournament qualifying titles in Baseball (a remarkable 27 consecutive seasons), Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball and Water Polo. COMMUNITY DEVELOP LIFE-LONG FRIENDSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS SLUH’s tradition has been, and its vision remains, that Jesuit education be available to talented students from all backgrounds. Our students come from 95 different zip codes and 171 grade schools on both sides of the river and internationally. Their parents range from corporate executives and university professors, to plumbers and cab drivers. While these young men live miles apart, in two-story homes and single-room apartments, they share one common theme: they have great intellectual ability and desire to become Men for Others.

PARENTS The parents not only support their sons in their school endeavors, but also support the institution by donating their skills, talents, time and resources to organize a wide range of social and fundraising events, as well as service‑oriented activities.
ALUMNI Since its founding in 1818, SLUH has graduated thousands of young men who are now vital constituents within our school community. There are over 15,000 living alumni and many remain very involved, supporting the school in countless ways. SLUH’s alumni have distinguished themselves in professional fields such as religion, government, social work, medicine, law, business, engineering, sports and education.
FACULTY AND STAFF SLUH faculty and staff are dedicated, competent men and women who have the success and well-being of the students as the focus of their work. Jesuit priests and scholastics continue to serve the school as teachers, counselors and administrators. Each fall, freshmen paint themselves blue and, for the first time as Jr. Billikens, cheer on their team. It is a memorable experience for all and quite a sight to see. This has become the official “Welcome” of our new students to the school community.

We conduct needs-blind admissions to admit students based on their ability to succeed rather than their economic circumstances.
2021-22 Tuition: $18,700 Actual cost to educate: $20,709
SLUH utilizes the FACTS Tuition Management System which you can access at admissions.sluh.org. Besides income (both taxable and non-taxable), we take into account assets, expenses, liabilities and the number of children attending Catholic schools (K-12). We encourage families to bring any special circumstances to our attention, recognizing that each case is unique.

MERIT SCHOLARS PROGRAM
SLUH offers a Merit Scholars Program that deepens our commitment to financial accessibility and intellectual excellence. This program provides both academic merit recognition and partial tuition, annual-renewable awards based on scores achieved on our mandatory Scholastic High School Placement test for all freshman applicants.
Fr. Gerald “Gerry” Sheahan, SJ Scholars are designated based on their mandatory Scholastic High School Placement Test (HSPT) scores. Applicants who score in the top 5% qualify for the following scholarships: • $5,000 award for a score of 99 percentile in Total Basic Skills • $4,500 award for a score of 98 percentile in Total Basic Skills • $4,000 award for a score of 97 percentile in Total Basic Skills • $3,500 award for a score of 96 percentile in Total Basic Skills • $3,000 award for a score of 95 percentile in Total Basic Skills
Fr. Claude Heithaus, SJ Scholars represent top Scholastic High School Placement Test scoring black and minority applicants not named Fr. Sheahan Scholars. The scholarship awards range from $3,000 to $5,000 depending on the HSPT score.
