Happy New Year and welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. 2016 promises to be an exciting and eventful year in the life of our church. There are many ways to get involved ranging from Bible and book studies, to missions, to children and youth activities, and on and on. Each will strengthen your faith and our church. Whatever your passion, there’s a place for you at Saint Michael and All Angels. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Yoga classes resume tomorrow, January 4. Plan to be with us tomorrow and every Monday at 5:30 in the Youth Center for Christian Yoga. Start the New Year off by taking advantage of the classes offered by Licensed Yoga Instructor, Annette Lentz. There is no fee. Questions? The Austin Street Center provides emergency shelter and services to the homeless in Dallas. One night each month, Saint Michael serves a prepared meal to those at the shelter. We’re cooking and serving January 5 and 6. If you can cook Tuesday evening January 5 at 5:30 contact Randy Rekerdres at randy@rek-ins.com. If you can serve Wednesday evening January 6 at 5:30 contact Rita Davis at rrdavis14@aol.com. Safe Church Training Set for Thursday, January 7. Safe Church Training is essential to Saint Michael’s dedication to provide a caring environment for every parishioner and is required for anyone working with youth or children. The training will be Thursday morning, January 7 from 9:00 – 12 Noon in the Coke Activities Room. RSVP to Kimberly Robinson at krobinson@saintmichael.org. Cuban Mission Vicar to Address The Forum January 10. For the past two years Saint Michael and All Angels has sponsored a mission trip to Cuba working with the St. Barnabas parish in Santi Spiritus. On Sunday, January 10 the Rev. Gilberto Junco, who serves as the parish’s Vicar will be at Saint Michael to address the Forum Sunday School, providing an update on the mission’s progress. The Rev. Junco also serves as the Archdeacon of the Midwest, and Vicar of St. Paul in Cienfuegos and Santa Maria in Rodas. The Forum meets at 10:00 in the Saint Michael Chapel. Date Set for Mardi Gras Party
Mark your calendars: the all-parish Mardi Gras party sponsored by the Women of Saint Michael will be Saturday evening, February 6 at the Park City Club.
