Walter Brueggemann Headlines April 10 Distinguished Lecture Series. Walter Brueggemann is widely considered one of the most influential Old Testament scholars of the last several decades and he will be Saint Michael’s Distinguished Lecturer on Sunday, April 10. In Parish Hall at 10:00, Dr. Brueggemann will speak on “Covenant as an Alternative to Pharaoh.” And, at a reservations-only luncheon in the Coke Activities Room at 12:30, he will address “Covenantal Economics: How God Wants us to Treat The Other.” Make luncheon reservations with Julia at jgiles@saintmichael. org. Cost is $15. Childcare is available upon request. Register Now for the Men of Saint Michael Retreat April 8 – 10. The Men of Saint Michael will retreat to the Lantana Resort on Lake Ray Roberts April 8 -10. Led by The Rt. Rev. Jeff Fisher, Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Texas and Vicar Bill Murray, the retreat will build bonds, plan future activities, and rejuvenate faith. Vacation Bible School Registration Begins in Two Weeks - Fishing for Volunteers. Registration for this year’s Vacation Bible School begins Friday, April 1. Adult and youth volunteers are needed and can sign-up now online at www.saintmichael.org/vbs.
Last Day for Making Easter Flower Memorials. Today is the last day to make an Easter Flower Memorial in remembrance of your loved ones. Fill out the Flower Memorial envelopes enclosed in the worship bulletin with the names of those you want to honor either in Memory or Thanksgiving and return it with your check to the South Lanai reception desk. The Flower Memorial Books will be available on Easter Sunday. Deliver Easter Flowers to Homebound Parishioners. We need volunteers to deliver Easter Flowers to the homebound on Easter Sunday. Complete your Easter celebration by delivering flowers to those who are unable to attend worship services at the Church. Our long-time vendors will be joined by several new ones with delicious, healthy produce, fresh eggs, no-hormone meats, and a lot more. The market will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. Take a stroll and experience the beauty of Saint Michael’s Nave Courtyard and Columbarium after the 11:00 services on Sunday, April 17. The Columbarium Committee and clergy will provide tours of this wonderful space where the combination of wind, water, and sky are blended to enhance the serenity of our entire campus. All of the Easter Sunday Offerings will benefit Outreach Ministries Three ministries serving women and families will benefits from Saint Michael’s Easter Offerings. The money will be divided equally between: • Gateway of Grace in Dallas, the largest refugee outreach program in North Texas • Our Friends Place in Dallas providing transitional resources for young women facing neglect, abuse, poverty, or homelessness. • The Princess Basma Centre for Children with Disabilities in Jerusalem
