There is no Sunday School. If you are traveling this week or over the 4th of July weekend, be safe and remember, the 11:11 Celebration worship service is streamed live every Sunday this summer. Each Faith and Literature review is video recorded and put on the church website at www.saintmichael.org/faithandlit. Today, we take a break to celebrate the Independence Day holiday week with pie in the Garden Cloister. On July 3, Greg Pickens will review Augustine to Freud. The Faith and Literature books are available in the Saint Michael Book Shop. Care Givers Meeting Rescheduled. The Care Givers Support Group will not meet July 4. July’s meetings have been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 5, and Monday, July 18, at 11:00 in the Parlor. We provide support for those who have the responsibility of caring for a loved one. Contact: Sandra Klingeman, jsklingeman@sbcglobal.net. Women’s Cancer Support Cancels Meeting on Holiday. The Women’s Cancer Support group will not meet on Monday, July 4. Their meeting will resume July 11 and every Monday at 1:45, in the Parlor to offer support to those who have or who are recovering from the disease. Patriotic Music to Highlight July 3rd Worship Celebrate America and Independence Day with the Saint Michael choir accompanied by orchestra and organ at the 9:00 worship service in the church next Sunday, July 3. The Prelude and Postlude will feature James Diaz and Hyeon Jeong performing patriotic marches. The choir’s anthem will be “America The Beautiful” arranged for choir, organ, brass, and percussion. Throughout the service the congregation will join in singing patriotic hymns. The service will be a fitting tribute to our country. Don’t miss it.

The Saint Michael Episcopal School has the perfect opportunity for Moms of 2 and 3 year olds to get Wednesday afternoons free for fun or personal business. On Wednesdays during June and July (except the 4th of July week), your child can “stay and play” at Saint Michael from 12:00 to 4:00. The cost is just $45 per day. Interim Rector to meet with Prayer Ministry in July. Saint Michael’s Prayer Ministry will meet 6:00 – 7:30 on Thursday evening, July 21, in the Coke Activities Room. The program will feature Interim Rector, Doug Travis. The focus this summer is Practical Training for the Prayer Team. Knitting Ministry To Meet on First Tuesdays in July and August. Join us on July 5 and August 2, from 1:00 – 3:00 in the Coke Activities Room where we knit together. Recovery Advocates are dedicated to enhancing the spiritual, physical, emotional and social well-being of people facing substance abuse and other addictions. Recovery Advocates have knowledge and experience in the area of addiction recovery and serve as a resource to discuss issues and concerns, share experiences, or take someone to an AA or Al-anon meeting. Copies of the Book of Common Prayer with large print are available for use during worship services. They can be borrowed from the South Lanai receptionist and returned following the service. Farmers Market Begins Chef Demonstrations Saint Michael’s Farmers Market has begun a series of cooking demonstrations on Saturday mornings. Chef Jed Demler, chef/owner of Savoureaux Catering Company, formerly of Hibiscus and The Grape, picks some of the market’s freshest products to use in his preparations. Several other area chefs are going to participate in the demonstrations throughout the summer. Their recipes will be available to all shoppers. Don’t forget, the market also collects shoes for The Shoe Bank and men’s clothing for One Man’s Treasure. The market is open Saturday’s from 8:00 to 12:00 Noon in the north parking lot.
