Each Faith and Literature review is video recorded and put on the church website at www.saintmichael.org/faithandlit. Today, Greg Pickens will review Augustine to Freud and next week, Lisa Flores Musser will review When Breath Becomes Air. The Faith and Literature books are available in the Saint Michael Book Shop. Care Givers Meeting Rescheduled. The Care Givers Support Group will not meet July 4. July’s meetings have been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 5, and Monday, July 18, at 11:00 in the Parlor. We provide support for those who have the responsibility of caring for a loved one. Contact: Sandra Klingeman, jsklingeman@sbcglobal.net. Women’s Cancer Support Cancels Meeting on Holiday. The Women’s Cancer Support group will not meet on Monday, July 4. Their meeting will resume July 11 and every Monday at 1:45, in the Parlor to offer support to those who have or who are recovering from the disease. Saint Michael’s Prayer Ministry will meet 6:00 – 7:30 on Thursday evening, July 21, in the Coke Activities Room. The program will feature Interim Rector, Doug Travis. The focus this summer is Practical Training for the Prayer Team. During the last half of the meeting, Mary Ann Webster will lead the training session. All are invited. Questions? Join us on July 5 and August 2, from 1:00 – 3:00 in the Coke Activities Room where we knit together. If you don’t know how to knit and would like to learn, please come. Youth to Texas Rangers Baseball. On Sunday afternoon July 31, Youth Ministry will be heading to Globe Life Park in Arlington to watch the Texas Rangers face off against the Kansas City Royals. We will meet at the church at 12:30. The first pitch is at 2:05. We will call parents when we leave the ball park and are heading back to the church. Faith and Grief Luncheon Scheduled July 14. Beverly Patrick will be the guest speaker at the July 14 Faith and Grief Luncheon beginning at 12:00 Noon in the Coke Activities Room. It is an opportunity to listen as others recount how their faith intersected with grief. The lunch is free but your donation is welcome. Recovery Advocates are dedicated to enhancing the spiritual, physical, emotional and social well-being of people facing substance abuse and other addictions. Recovery Advocates have knowledge and experience in the area of addiction recovery and serve as a resource to discuss issues and concerns, share experiences, or take someone to an AA or Al-anon meeting. Copies of the Book of Common Prayer with large print are available for use during worship services. They can be borrowed from the South Lanai receptionist and returned following the service. Wear Your Nametag! There is no way we can know every parishioner, and there’s no way our clergy can remember everyone’s name. Wear your name tag! It’s more welcoming and more considerate to one another. (If you need a new nametag, ask the receptionist at the South Lanai.) The 7 Sisters Scarves Handmade In Kyrgyzstan Are Back! The Book Shop has the beautiful one of a kind silk and wool scarves in a variety of colors. The shop also has handmade straw bags from Madagascar that would make great bags for the pool or beach! Farmers Market Offers Something For Everyone Come for the fun on Saturday mornings at the Saint Michael’s Farmers Market. In addition to great produce, fresh food including pastries, tamales, and breakfast tacos, there are special events at each week's market including cooking demonstrations and regular visits from Fire Department 27 including tours of the fire trucks. Don’t forget, the market also collects shoes for The Shoe Bank and men’s clothing for One Man’s Treasure. The market is open Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00 Noon in the north parking lot.
