Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Today Sunday School starts along with most of our fall programming. You will find a listing of the Sunday School offerings in this edition, and all of the fall programming in the September issue of The Archangel. There are a lot of great programs this year for all ages. Take advantage of them and get connected. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Speak Up! Parish Survey. The Parish Survey for the Rector Search and Transition Committee begins today and runs through September 20. It is important that every parishioner take the survey, which will guide the committee in identifying Saint Michael’s next Rector. The survey is available online at www.saintmichael.org/survey. Hardcopies are available from the receptionist in the South Lanai. Speak Up to make sure your voice is heard! Questions: contact rector.search@saintmichael.org. Come visit the St. Mary’s Guild Table in the South Lanai. The “Goodies” are back! The St. Mary’s Guild has baked its wonderful cakes and cookies and they are available every Sunday in the South Lanai. When you buy, all of the proceeds go to support women and children at Hopeful Solutions and Family Outreach Dallas The Guild is also looking for new members to join one of our teams, which bake once a month. Contact Dana Cottingame at 214-282-3838 for membership information. School has Started – Drive Carefully. The lower school of the Episcopal School of Dallas started classes this past week and the Saint Michael Episcopal School is starting on Wednesday, September 2. Be sure to drive with special care when you’re around the church during the week. Saint Michael’s Farmers Market is Closed for the Season. Saint Michael’s Farmers Market closed for the season yesterday. It was one of the best seasons ever. A special thanks goes to the volunteers who served as greeters, the Discovery Mass Band, and to the market’s director Meg Carstens. See you next spring! The Dannals to Get Retirement Lessons Thursday. Prime Timers are set to give Valerie and Bob Dannals retirement lessons at its meeting Thursday, September 3. It will be a time of remembering and thanking them for their loving service to our parish. The meeting starts at 10:30 in the Coke Activities Room. Make reservations with Mary Davis, 214-363-7761. The cost is $10.

The Feast of Saint Michael – Celebrating Our 70th Anniversary – The Rector’s Ministry Sunday, September 27 is the Feast of Saint Michael at which we will commemorate the 70th Anniversary of our Church, honor our 7th decade parishioners, and celebrate the ministry of Valerie and Bob Dannals. By Our Love Annual Planning Dinner is Tonight. The annual planning dinner for By Our Love is tonight in the Coke Activities Room beginning at 5:30. Backpack 4 Kids Begins September 6. The Backpack 4 Kids campaign kicks-off on Sunday, September 6. The fundraiser supports providing a backpack of food for hungerrisk children in Dallas County. Jubilee Park Volunteer Opportunities. There are a lot of opportunities to volunteer at Jubilee Park this fall. At Davids’ Place, the Head Start school on the campus, needs volunteers to read to children ages 3 to 5. The time commitment is one hour a week between 9:00 and 1:00. At Jeanie’s Place, the Early Head Start program, we need people to provide care and activities for infants and toddlers through 3 year olds. Time commitment: one hour a week between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. To volunteer for these or other programs at Jubilee Park contact Allison Johnson at volunteer@ jubileecenter.org. Men: Join the Brotherhood. Saint Michael’s chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrews is looking for a lot of great men. The Brotherhood is the longest continuallyserving ministry in the Episcopal Church. We meet the first and third Saturdays of the month at 8:30 in the Drake Room. Saint Michael will host the annual meeting for the Dallas Diocese’s Brotherhood of St. Andrews’ chapters on December 5th. St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange Closed Pending Move. The St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange in Highland Park Village is closed preparing for the move to its new location in the Village, which will be after Labor Day.
