Followers of Christ, Spreading God’s Love

Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. It’s been a great week at Saint Michael. The Women of Saint Michael had nearly 250 people at its fall luncheon, and we’ve taken steps to further insure the safety of our school children. Next week will be highlighted by the Institution of our Rector, Chris Girata, at 11:00 on Saturday, and the Feast of Saint Michael on Sunday. Come and See: be a part of this special time in the life of our church. Today is Parish Nurse Sunday. The Parish Nurse Ministry will be in the South Lanai today taking blood pressure, and providing information on this month’s focus, children’s health. Our Registered Nurses will answer your questions on immunizations and basic first aid for children, as the school year begins. Contact Dianne Boyd, dboyd@saintmichael.org. Saint Michael 101 – Learn About Saint Michael Membership. Are you new to Saint Michael, or do you have friends that ought to be members? Tonight's Saint Michael 101 at 6:00 is where you can get to know our church and what it’s all about. It’s a lively, fun (free) dinner, led by The Rev. Bob Johnston. Sign up for yourself, or urge your friends to come and see. RSVP at www.saintmichael.org. Construction Started on Security Doors for Schools’ Children. As part of Saint Michael’s commitment to a safe environment for the children of the Saint Michael Episcopal School and the Episcopal School of Dallas, construction was started this week to install security doors to the hallways near the north parking lot entrance and north lanai. When completed the hallways leading to the schools’ classrooms will be locked during school hours and accessed only by authorized personnel and groups. The hallways will be open on weekends and after school hours. There will be three security doors, two accessing the hallways from the north lanai, and a third at the east end of the hallway near the choir room. Everyone needing access to the hallways, including the Coke Activities Room and the kitchen, will be required to have a nametag. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of September. Highland Park Village Tory Burch Store Hosts Women of Saint Michael Benefit. It will be a fun evening of shopping and fundraising Thursday, September 22 for the Women of Saint Michael and customers of the St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange.
