Followers of Christ, Spreading God’s Love
Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on this day before Halloween and All Saints Day on Tuesday. There are a lot of goblins, fairies, and ghouls (and parents) at the annual Trunk-or-Treat in the south parking lot. The superheroes are at the Saint Michael blood drive in the ESD lobby which continues until 1:00 p.m. There are a lot of things to be proud of and to be thankful for at Saint Michael. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Shelly Vescovo Announces Retirement. Director of Adult Formation, Shelly Vescovo, has announced her intention to retire on December 1 after 37 years at Saint Michael and All Angels. Shelly joined the church staff in 1979 as Director of Adult Education and Parent Involvement. We will celebrate Shelly and her ministry on Sunday, December 4 at the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services, followed by receptions in the church Narthex. She will continue on a volunteer basis to help implement the Adult Formation program until a new director is selected. All Saints Sunday, November 6. Next Sunday, November 6, is All Saints Sunday when we acknowledge and honor those who have died during the past year. As we celebrate those loved ones, we will be joined by Bishop George Sumner, who will preach and celebrate at the 9:00 and 11:00 services. There will be an all-parish reception in the Nave Courtyard beginning at 10:00 and no Sunday School. Join in Our Veterans Day Celebration November 13. On Sunday evening, November 13, Saint Michael will honor all veterans and active military at the Annual Veterans Day service and reception. It is a time to show gratitude to the men and women who have given of themselves to protect our nation’s freedoms. The celebration starts with worship in the church at 5:30 followed by a “Thank You” reception featuring the Heritage Brass Band. We Want your Military picture. Are you a veteran, or is a member of your family in active military service? Send us a picture in uniform for display on our Wall of Honor. Include name, rank, and branch of service. Send your pictures to Tish Visinsky at tvisinsky@saintmichael.org or bring them to the South Lanai reception desk. Thank you to those who participated in last Sunday’s Stewardship Celebration! We are so thankful for your support. If you haven’t made your pledge, please fill out a pledge card today! And, you can pledge online at www.saintmichael.org/ give.
