WELCOME TO SAINT MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS EPISCOPAL CHURCH. The extra hour of sleep really felt good this morning, and the All-Church Breakfast is a great start to a new month. November is filled with wonderful opportunities at Saint Michael; the Veterans Day celebration and reception, Saint Michael Presents community concert, and Thanksgiving, to mention just a few. You’ll find even more in the Archangel and online at www.saintmichael.org. Thank you for worshiping with us today. United Thank Offering Boxes Available. United Thank Offering Collection Boxes are available at several locations throughout the church and will be collected during worship services on November 14 and 15. Coordinated by the Women of Saint Michael, the UTO encourages making daily gifts in thanks for our blessings. Take a United Thanks Offering box home, and as a family give in thanks. Vestry and Diocesan Delegate Nominations Are Open. Nominations are open for people to serve on the vestry beginning in February, and for delegates to serve at the Diocesan Convention. The vestry members (5) and Convention Delegates will be elected at the Parish Annual Meeting on February 28. The deadline to submit nominations is 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. The forms should be returned to the receptionist at the South Lanai. SMU Concert Choirs Open Saint Michael Presents Season. Three choirs from Southern Methodist University will combine to perform the holiday-themed concert, Home, at the opening of the Saint Michael Presents season on Thursday, November 12 at 7:00. The performance, including orchestra, will explore the spiritual and physical places we call “Home.” The concert is free to the public. Tickets, at no charge, will be necessary to assure adequate seating. Tickets are available online at www.saintmichael.org/saintmichaelpresents or the south lanai reception desk. Pick Up a Meals on Wheels Route. Meals on Wheels provides food and drivers to deliver meals to the elderly and other shut-ins. Currently, Saint Michael has four routes to cover. Driving a route takes just a few hours, and you are providing much needed food to some of Dallas’ most vulnerable residents. To volunteer contact Mary Bartholow at 214-528-5651 or via email at mary.bar@sbcglobal.net .
We don’t learn to be good stewards by reading a book, studying a curriculum, a one-day service event, a one-time mission trip, or a once-a-year stewardship campaign. We learn to be good stewards when we see, first hand, the blessings that come from generosity. When you make your pledge to Saint Michael and All Angels, be generous. To discuss your giving to Saint Michael, contact Mary Kardell, Director of Giving, at mkardell@saintmichael.org.
