Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. A special welcome on this All Saints Sunday to The Rt. Rev. George Sumner, our Bishop. He is preaching and celebrating communion at the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services in the Church. Following the services there are receptions in the Nave Courtyard. Take the opportunity to stroll through the Columbaria as we remember and honor those who have died. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Honor Our Veterans Next Sunday November 13. Next Sunday evening Saint Michael will honor all veterans and current military personnel at the Annual Veterans Day service and reception. This is a time for families and friends to show support and gratitude to the men and women who have given of themselves to protect our nation’s freedoms. The celebration starts with worship in the church at 5:30 followed by a “Thank You” reception featuring the Heritage Brass Band. Concussion Expert Addresses Women of Saint Michael Luncheon Wednesday. One in 30 children will have a concussion or some kind of brain injury before age 21. The Women of Saint Michael presents Dr. Lori Cook, from the Center for Brain Health, UTD at its luncheon, Wednesday, November 9 beginning at 11:30 in Parish Hall. Dr. Cook will discuss how to identify concussion symptoms and best practices for concussion prevention, management, and recovery. Make a reservation online at: saintmichael.org/ wosmluncheons. Faith and Grief Luncheon to Feature Lacy Jacobus. Lacy Jacobus, owner of Devine Bedlam, will be the speaker at the November 10 Faith and Grief Luncheon. The Parish Nurse Ministry will be in the South Lanai on Sunday, November 20, taking blood pressures and providing information about Flu/Pneumonia Prevention/Treatment. Questions? Harry Potter Invades Saint Michael Youth Center November 16. Harry Potter will be on the loose at the Youth LiveWIRE meeting Wednesday night, November 16. If you’re in the 6th through 12 grades join in the fun packed evening beginning at 5:30 in the Youth Center. From a Quidditch tournament to a themed photo booth, we’ll have it all. Join us each Sunday at 3:00! The Youth Center will be open for homework or study for an upcoming exam. Our youth interns will be around to help. Afterwards, stay for Bible study at 5:30 followed by dinner in Preston Center. Children’s Sunday School Collecting Warm Clothing for The Gathering. SPARK and The Edge (children from 3 to 5th grade) are collecting winter clothing items that will be distributed at The Gathering, the downtown worship service for the homeless at Thanks-Giving Square. There are collection boxes in each Sunday School classroom. Save the Date: February 24 – Stars at Night. Get this on your calendar now! Vestry and Diocesan Delegate Nominations Are Open. Nominations are open for people to serve on the Vestry beginning in February, and for delegates to serve at the Diocesan Convention in the fall. The Vestry members (5) and Convention Delegates will be elected at the Annual Meeting on February 26. The deadline for nominations is 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 16. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. Gateway of Grace Ministry Founder to Address Prayer Ministry. Dr. Samira Page from Gateway of Grace Ministry, a refugee outreach program, will address the Thursday, November 17 meeting of the Prayer Ministry. Dr. Page, converted to Christianity and earned a Master of Divinity and doctrate from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. All are invited to listen to her story. The meeting in the Coke Activities Room begins at 6:00 with a light supper offered for $10. Make reservations with Katherine Bowen at kbowen@saintmichael.org. Meals on Wheels Needs Holiday Drivers. Meals on Wheels provides food to the elderly and other shut-ins. On Thanksgiving and Christmas volunteer drivers are needed to cover routes. It can be a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday by bringing a meal and fellowship to people often forgotten. If you can drive a Meals on Wheels route on either Thanksgiving Day or Christmas, contact Mary Bartholow at mary.bar@sbcglobal.net. Jubilee Park Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon November 17 – Volunteer Now. Saint Michael and All Angels partners with Jubilee Park and Community Center to provide a fun-filled Thanksgiving celebration for seniors living in the Jubilee Park Neighborhood. You can volunteer to prepare a cooked dish, to transport food to Jubilee Park, or to be a server at the luncheon on Thursday, November 17, at www. saintmichael.org/jubileethanksgiving. PT Cruisers to Get Cowtown Culture. PT Cruisers will soak up culture in Fort Worth at the Kimbell Museum’s “Monet – The Early Years” exhibit on Thursday, November 17th. The bus will leave the church at 9:30. After seeing the exhibit, we will go to Rodeo Goat for first class hamburgers or salads. Cost for the museum and lunch is $30. Call Mary Davis at 214-363-7761 for a reservation. The deadline is Sunday, November 13th. Meditation Workshop Planned for Caregivers. Coping with the holidays can be difficult for caregivers responsible for loved ones or family members. On Saturday, November 19, The Very Rev. Doug Travis will lead a workshop on using mediation to ease the stress of the holidays. The program, “Prayer, Meditation, and Pastoral Care,” will be held in the Youth Center from 12:00 to 3:00. New Policy for Christmas Flower Memorials. In the next few week parishioners will be able to participate in the annual Flower Memorial booklet produced during the Christmas season. The contributions pay for the holiday flowers, trees, and greenery that decorate the Church. Beginning this year only those who contribute this season will be listed in the booklet.

Angels Benefiting Jubilee Park Children and Seniors. I Believe in Angels provides Christmas gifts for children and seniors living in the Jubilee Park neighborhood. Last year, Saint Michael parishioners made Christmas wishes come true for 117 families with 354 children and over 193 seniors. Beginning today, you can “adopt” angels from tables located by the Parlor or near Saint Michael Chapel and return the gifts by Sunday, December 4. Volunteers are needed to help sort gifts on Friday, December 9 and at the family “shopping” day on Saturday, December 10.
