This morning the Rector will deal with “Post Election Reconciliation” in the church at 10:00 And, this evening we will honor our Veterans and Active Military personnel at our annual Veterans Day Service and Reception, beginning at 5:30 in the church. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Saint Michael Co-Sponsors Biblical Scholar N.T. Wright at SMU. Renowned biblical scholar N.T. Wright is the featured lecturer at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology November 15-17. The program, co-sponsored by Saint Michael and All Angels, includes three evening lectures that are free and open to the public. Acolyte Training Scheduled November 19. Join the finest Acolyte Corps in the Episcopal Church. Training will be held Saturday, November, 19 from 9:00 to 10:30 in the church. After a divisive and negative election campaign, today’s Forum Sunday School Class will address “Post Election Reconciliation.” Our Rector, Chris Girata, will lead the discussion as our nation begins the important job of healing and restoring hope for the future. The Forum meets at 10:00 a.m. in the Church. Honor Our Veterans Tonight. Tonight Saint Michael will honor all veterans and current military personnel at the Annual Veterans Day service and reception. Bring your families and friends to support and thank the men and women who have given of themselves to protect our nation’s freedoms. The celebration starts with worship in the church at 5:30 followed by a reception featuring the Heritage Brass Band. Volunteers Needed for Thursday’s Jubilee Park Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon. Saint Michael and All Angels and the Jubilee Community Center each year provide a fun-filled Thanksgiving celebration for the neighborhood seniors. Volunteer to prepare a cooked dish, to transport food to Jubilee Park, or to be a server on Thursday, November 17. Volunteer today at www.saintmichael.org/jubileethanksgiving.

Harry Potter Invades Saint Michael Youth Center November 16. Harry Potter will be on the loose at the Youth LiveWIRE meeting Wednesday night, November 16. If you’re in the 6th through 12 grades join in the fun packed evening beginning at 5:30 in the Youth Center. Contact Lauren at lwainwright@saintmichael.org. Homework and Bible Study. Join us each Sunday at 3:00! The Youth Center will be open for homework or study for an upcoming exam. Our youth interns will be around to help. Afterwards, stay for Bible study at 5:30 followed by dinner in Preston Center. Advent Family Night Wednesday, November 30. Make Advent a family season. Wednesday, November 30 will be Advent Family Night where you can make a Mason Jar Advent wreath, a “Reverse Advent Calendar,” even blue and pink sparkle goo. See the new designs and new merchandise at the Honduras Threads Popup Sale Sunday, December 4 from 8:00 to 1:00 in the Parlor. Vestry and Diocesan Delegate Nominations Are Open. Nominations are open for people to serve on the Vestry beginning in February, and for delegates to serve at the Diocesan Convention in the fall. The Vestry members (5) and Convention Delegates will be elected at the Annual Meeting on February 26. The deadline for nominations is 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 16. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. PT Cruisers to Get Cowtown Culture on Thursday. P T Cruisers will soak up culture in Fort Worth at the Kimbell Museum’s “Monet – The Early Years” exhibit on Thursday, November 17th. The bus will leave the church at 9:30. Grace Ministry Founder to Address Prayer Ministry. Dr. Samira Page from Gateway of Grace Ministry, a refugee outreach program, will address the Thursday, November 17 meeting of the Prayer Ministry. Dr. Page converted to Christianity and earned a Master of Divinity and doctrate from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. All are invited to listen to her story. Meditation Workshop Planned for Caregivers. Coping with the holidays can be difficult for caregivers responsible for loved ones. On Saturday, November 19, The Very Rev. Doug Travis will lead a workshop on using mediation to ease holiday stress. The program, “Prayer, Meditation, and Pastoral Care,” will be held in the Youth Center from 12:00 to 3:00. The Parish Nurse Ministry will be in the South Lanai on Sunday, November 20, taking blood pressures and providing information about Flu/Pneumonia Prevention/Treatment. Questions? Rector Chris Girata will host a meeting next Sunday, November 20 to share details of a Family Summer Pilgrimage tracing the journeys of St. Paul. The cruise, designed especially for families, will visit the cradle of Christianity, including Rome, Athens, Ephesus, and Corinth. The Rector will lead guided excursions to holy sites not available to the general public. The information meeting will be at 10:00 in the Parlor. Meals on Wheels, which provides food to the elderly and homebound, need volunteer drivers to cover routes on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It can be a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday by bringing a meal and fellowship to people often forgotten. If you can drive a Meals on Wheels route on either day, contact Mary Bartholow at mary.bar@sbcglobal.net. I Believe in Angels Underway – Adopt an Angel I Believe in Angels provides Christmas gifts for children and seniors living in the Jubilee Park neighborhood. Last year, Saint Michael parishioners made Christmas wishes come true for 117 families with 354 children and over 193 seniors. Adopt an angel from tables located by the Parlor or near Saint Michael Chapel and return the gifts by Sunday, December 4. Volunteers are needed to help sort gifts on Friday, December 9 and at the family “shopping” day on Saturday, December 10.
