CVCWA A NNUAL CONFERENCE Staying Resilient • Working Together • Protecting W ater May 11-12 , 2 0 2 1 | Virtu a l Eve nt MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR In 2019, my message spoke about the accelerating change in the clean water industry and our need to continue adapting to this change while helping to shape our regulatory future. Little did we know at the time how much change we would all face in the coming year. COVID changed our priorities, how we worked, how we learned, and how we conducted our daily lives. It also prevented CVCWA from holding a conference in 2020, an unfortunate first for our organization. But in the midst of these unprecedented challenges, we found new resiliency within ourselves to work around the barriers and continue our mission in ways that we did not think possible when the lockdowns first began. By all measures, 2020 was a highly productive year for the clean water industry despite the headwinds we faced. CVCWA is proud to announce that we are resuming our annual conference program in 2021. The theme of this conference is “Staying Resilient – Working Together – Protecting Water”. This year, we will conduct our conference virtually in order to maintain the safety of all attendees. While we all look forward to seeing everyone in person hopefully in 2022, we will leverage modern technology to conduct a virtual conference which brings together the same level of dynamic speakers, relevant regulatory topics, and group discussion that you have come to know and expect. We have divided this year’s conference into two half-day sessions which will take place on May 11 and 12. Each day will include presentations, Q&A, and open discussion. Topics include new policies and regulations, climate change, new solutions to ongoing staffing challenges, and updates on how CVCWA is engaging on your behalf. I would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who helped plan this conference; to our scheduled speakers for their participation, time, and effort; and to all of you for your hard work and support to continue our clean water mission. We look forward to (virtually) seeing you there! Sincerely, Bill Slenter CVCWA Outreach Committee and Conference Chair
