Help us win the funding Metro needs! (learn more)
You may have heard that Metro is facing a $750 million fiscal cliff beginning in FY25. Causes include ridership decline and inflation. But the longstanding issue is lack of a dedicated funding source dating to the system's founding. Metro has been on a comeback in terms of better service, and we are planning a campaign to support dedicated funding.
Anew tunnel?Anew route for Metrorail? (take the survey)
Yes, we need to close Metro’s operating funding gap. But we also need to plan for the future! Metro has identified six options to fix the Rosslyn tunnel bottleneck and meet future demand on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines! Visit Metro’s website to take the survey, register for a public meeting, and find detailed maps and information. We’re very intrigued by the Blue Line Loop!

Imagine 200 affordable homes here (take action)
DC wants to rezone the aging Third District Police and Fire Stations on U Street NW to allow for both new stations and affordable housing. Even though the Zoning Commission delayed the hearing to the fall, keep sending emails backing the rezoning!
Let's fix our upside down property tax (take action)
A“split rate” tax would increase taxes on land made valuable by public investments (eg: Metro) and reduce it on buildings and improvements. This Incentivizes higher value commercial properties, like those in downtown, to maintain or rebuild, which could spur the revitalization of downtown DC. Most homeowners’ tax bills would stay the same or be reduced.
